Can the 6a be used without the fingerprint activated?
Just a password, like on my Moto 7 play?

Received the android 13 update yesterday. Fingerprint is not recognising my fingers anymore (1 success / 20 attempts ) it doesn't matter how I put my fingers on screen.
Bad. Otherwise good battery life.

Rikkon, 28 Aug 2022So you are saying that you can't charge your phone at ... moreNo, that's not what I'm saying. I am saying it's unreasonable not to have fast charging at this price point.
> Most power banks don't deliver ultra fast charging
Lol what, do you not know there are 65W and 100W power banks? And they are very common.
> Those scenarios are not realistic at all.
Yes they are, you want more scenarios? I'll give you more:
1) When you're at a conference call and your phone dies. Give five minutes and you can be free from the wire for the rest of the call.
2) When you're using your phone for VR and it dies. Fast charging is not mandatory but greatly appreciated.
3) When you're at work and you use your phone as the point-of-sales system. A customer comes to order something but you find your phone battery is dead. Assuming you have 65W or higher charging, only 3 minutes can give you enough battery to process the order and multiple other people's orders before charging again during your lunch break. Because it would be highly inconvenient to be tethered to a wall outlet when your responsibility is to walk around the store to show people the products.
The third scenario is extremely detailed because it is extremely realistic. I don't know how more realistic it can get than that.

But then you can fast charge your phone during a concert? How? Most power banks don't deliver ultra fast charging. Those scenarios are not realistic at all.

Google pixel fast charging only with original google brick, with any other charging is slow, so you can't just take any other charger

The camera is more than decent, and the battery life really improves after a while of AI learning. In fact the whole Google experience, with the Tensor, puts this phone above the rest in this price range with different compromises.
Go for it

I need to help my better half choose her next phone and she is a tough customer to please. Some of the main conditions she has (which make finding the right device difficult) are a decent IP rating (IP67 or 68) and a reasonable price. She would also like a decent camera and otherwise she isn't too tough (it doesn't have to be blazing fast; a decent battery would be good, but she usually isn't a heavy user and she has, more or less, given up on expandable storage). This mostly ticks the right boxes, although it's slightly pricier than would be ideal.

@GSMArena I hope that you'll be able to add the 6a samples to your photo compare tool soon!
Also, I am curious about the battery life, in the sense that I wonder if the regular 6 is worth a revisit, although maybe it's that 60Hz screen that's giving the 6a such a boost in browsing time.

Grey Wolf, 07 Aug 2022Lol, 18W charging speeds (and they don't even give the... moreAs a Pixel 5A owner, I can say that charging a 4680 mAh battery with an 18W charger is not an issue at all.
The phone easily lives from early morning till late night. You only have to charge it overnight, when it doesn't matter if it takes one or two hours for a phone to get charged.
P.S. I had used a Realme supporting 65W charging for a few months and can't say it made any difference for me.
The real issue was that it wasn't a PD 65W charging but some proprietary 10V 6.5A one, so I had to carry a stock charger brick and thick USB-A-to-C cable with me all the time.
Having a Pixel, I enjoy having one PD charger and a couple of high-quality C-to-C cables for my laptop, smartphone, business headset, earbuds, and even Bluetooth mouse. Also, the same Baseus 65W power bank works for them all.

One major feature of this phone is that if you have a band-aid on your finger, you can still unlock the phone by pressing your nose on the fingerprint reader.
Or someone else's nose. That works fine too.
