Those look great, but still a bit too expensive. Have to wait a few years I guess.

Why does the Fold have Adreno 670 graphics and the Flip Adreno 730?

I just preordered a Z Flip4 through T-Mobile. Will pay $0 for 24 months. Pretty good deal imo.

The Fold has a nice deal as well but I just bought a tablet a couple of months ago and don't want to make it redundant

Unlike you, i see that those new features/improvements are very minimal. I can agree that the cameras got big improvements compared to last year but the rest no.
Again, you're the blind one here. Too bad you can't realize that.

Binko, 10 Aug 2022People on this forum are amazingly negative. All cellph... moreThat's where you're oh-so-wrong, my friend. iPhone 14 and S23 are phones for the masses. They're the boring, mainline devices that won't (or can't ?) take any risks or innovate whatsoever. We've come to expect, and accept, that they'll be the same everyear.

But this isn't that. This is the Z line, it ain't aimed at your average Joe but at us, tech enthusiasts. The Z line always was supposed to be innovative and ground breaking EVERY YEAR.

The Fold 2 and Flip 2 (3) were vastly improved over their precedessors. Bringing some real novelties to the table. Fold 3 & Fold 3 ? Not at all. They were incremental upgrades. BO-RING. It didn't make sense back then because us, tech-heads, hate incremental upgrades.

We're always laughing at apple recycling their designs years after years to the point that a 2021 iPhone 13 looks pretty much the same as as 2017 iPhone X.
Well, this year, and the year before that, Samsung did exactly the same for their line of products aimed at us, enthusiasts. This is INFURIATING. INSULTING. IRRESPECTFUL.

You might say "Go buy another foldable then". Well, and that's the very reason samsung stopped innovating in their foldables : we can't.

If you import ANY chinese rarity from Huawei to Vivo you'll lose warranty, parts availability, and you'll get some sketchy software. Unthinkable when spending 2K on a device.
              And Motorola ?

Well their RAZR is an overpriced underengineered piece of garbage. We all seen the teardown from Jerry. Samsung is using a complex and well thought hinge. RAZR ? it's a door. Plus you'll get the infamous dumpster fire Lenovo software support.

Samsung knows that, they know they're the only real player in the western foldable space, so as you may be aware, no competition kills innovation. And that's what's happening right there.

I understand that they are not going to become an open service app for other phones!! but the rest about samsung is right, and not only samsung and let's not expect anything new from apple either

Nick Tegrataker, 11 Aug 2022Mate Xs 2 has a very large bending radius yet still is comp... moreThank you. I did notknow that.
Unfortunately I could not find any videos in the internet or any reviews regarding the new M-Pen 2s (at least I could find the name of the specific stylus for Mate Xs 2).
I don't how which technology these active pens use. The S Pen is passive and needs the digitizer which as I explained is not bendable - yet.
But the issue with moving bendable area and IPX8 rating stil remains.

i just don't know man...the fold in the picture beneath the specs already has light bleed in the hinge/fold crease area

Let's be honest, Samsung's 2022 phones really haven't lit the world on fire. You can go on YouTube and see many people say the S21 Ultra just felt better to use than the S22 Ultra even if the S22 Ultra is "technically" better. But sometimes the experience is not better. Sometimes newer isn't always better.

The iPhone 12 mini is much better than the iPhone SE (2016) but I came running back using the SE because it just felt better in the hand to use. I prefer Touch ID. The Pixel 6 series was supposed to be the best Pixel ever, but all I heard for most of the past year was how buggy they were. How updates made some things worse.

Samsung mailed it in this year. Just more of the same from the S22 Ultra, Fold 4, and Flip 4 that you got from the 2021 models. We can't expect them to reinvent the wheel every year but where's that secret third foldable or rollable they're working on? I thought Samsung had something cookin' behind closed doors?

Each new announcement this year just feels like same ol', same ol'. Been there, done that. Looks the same with slightly better innards. Your experience will be pretty much the same. Smartphones were pretty much perfected since 2017 or even as far back to 2014. Perhaps too perfect or too powerful that it creates distractions we don't really need in our daily lives.

I will say I do like the faster and more efficient Snap 8+ Gen 1. If you're into retro gaming emulation, any boost in clock speeds can really help smooth out the experience trying to emulate more powerful consoles. My Snap888 can run PS2/GameCube/Wii extremely well but it's not always smooth. Any boost in speed can smooth it out.

JLC, 10 Aug 2022Guys, complaining about why the crease is there and why it ... moreMate Xs 2 has a very large bending radius yet still is compatible with a stylus (M Pen 2s), just saying. It's likely that many companies avoid making their foldable stylus-compatible because the inner displays are so soft that they can be dented by or marked with almost everything, including soft stylus tips made out of plastic or hard rubber.
