In terms of image quality, it's a straight downgrade from Edge+ 2020, it's actual predecessor. In all situations, especially in daylight. The processing is worse too. The telephoto is exception, but it's useless at only 2x. With 200mp to crop from, who needs a 2x lens??

Anyway, it just can't compete with the 27mp bayer output of isocell hmx. It's larger sensor becomes useless with extreme 4x4 binning with tiniest of pixels outputting 12.5mp, just to hit that 200mp number for marketing target.

Edge+ has better ultrawide sensor too, but due to Motorola's incompetence there's no night mode for ultrawide. Edge+ still has best overall camera among Motorola phones, only held back by Motorola not updating it's camera software. As a result, there's no 4k60fps and no 4k in ultrawide! It's still on camera 2 whereas worse devices got camera 3.

Proper flagship out of the box right here.

Wanting more than this is just wasting money.
The 200mp maybe a marketing gimmick but produces great pictures, excellent sound , great endurance, top perfomer.

For those who wait ro renew their first edge plus series this is the right choice.
Great job again Motorola and 3 OS updates is a step up.

[deleted post]this is not junk phone, this a good phone with good specs

I'm a bit disappointed. I was expecting a good camera phone to replace my aging Mi Note 10 (snap 730 is killing me) but Moto's 50MP pictures look less detailed than the 27MP ones from the Mi Note 10. At least according to the building you always shoot with those metal curtains. :/

              “Chipset is prone to throttling”

There are phones that do a worse job on that regard.

Also the phone should have 4K recording on the iltrawide, I saw the phone af a store and it did have that option on the ultrawide (didn’t check the telephoto for that)

So, phone is not as good as specs suggest. Still some people here think phones of same specs are equal.

                - Screen is not well calibrated
                - No 4K on the other two cameras
                - No 8k@30 as advertised by them
                - photos are not on pair with 1/1.22"

Tsmc fans should explain why some phones with this SoC show stability below 70%, since it was all Samsung Semicon fault and another fab would solve it according to them.

Pretty disappointing phone really in the end. Bad colour accuracy, pretty bad battery endurance for a gen 8+ 1 SoC (worse than my find X5 for standby, Web browsing and video and I have a SD888) and it gets the same time from 0-100% as my find X5 with 80w charger.

Oh and it's got worse camera quality than my find X5 too on all fronts it seems so its clearly not getting the best out of the 200mp cam o'r 60mp selfie (tbh I don't rate Samsung sensors anyway, they get overhyped by YouTube content creators and big media outlets so they can sell more galaxy phones).

Good try Motorola but you just can't make flagship devices on par with the rest

200mp not as bad as I hoped
Moto be making good phones lately 😒😒

[deleted post]Here's my advice, shut the hell up

                        Nice timing. 👍
