Anonymous, 19 Sep 2022I hope the someone that claims D9000/9000+ are better based... more"Cheating" concerned Helio series...don't know any Dimensity concerned!
Really affects heavilly a single benchmark : PCMark...
In fact, without "cheating" PCMark forgot to use big cores.
When PCMark simulated webbrowsing, only little cores were involved.
When you open Chrome and browse web, Big cores are involved without any problem.
In that case did PCMark represents properly real use? I think not...

Some devices with Snapdragon was concerned too...instead of accusing Mediatek, reporters accused...Oneplus for exemple (true that Mediatek doesn't invite journalist in Hawaii each year to present new products)

PCMark was the problem..."cheating" only force big cores...without any overclocking at all.
Easy to verify with any CPU monitoring app...

I doubt anyone will release 5+5 cores config
Since cortex A75/A55 there's no more big.LITTLE but DynamIQ...
Up to 8 cores there's no more cluster migration.
    You've got a unique cluster with a maximum of 8 heterogenous cores...you can mix X1, A78, A77, A76, A75, A55 cores as you want inside the same cluster...or X2, A710, A510...but it's really a single cluster (even if some reporters call this tri-cluster...it's a technical mistake).
It's not impossible to imagine 2 clusters (3+5) + (2), but everybody release single cluster config for smartphone...it's far more simple for cache configuration.

Big.LITTLE limitation was 4 homogeneous cores per cluster...and 2 clusters...even if Mediatek (and Samsung on some mid rangers) managed to use 3 clusters...
    You can do 4+4 (4 A73+ 4 A53 on Helio P60) or 2+4 (2A72+4A53 mt8176) or 2+2 (2A73+2A53 mt8173)...Mediatek did 2+4+4 (2A72+4A53+4A53 Helio X20)...Samsung did 2+4+2 (2A73+4A53+2A53 Exynos 7885...nearly nobody knows it's tri-cluster)

This phone is way too expensive for a gaming phone.

A while ago, I found black shark 4 at around 350 usd and black shark 4 pro at around 450 usd.

I know Xiaomi is bad at updates but still these are great deals than this Asus 6D and saves you a lot of money

Old games are better remebered because of that.

All that over-engineering yet the problem remain ; 99% of Android games are greedy trash.

We're talking litteral dumpster fire studios developing total garbage games that hides their lack of contents behind paywalls.

How about 500 bucks to fully upgrade your car or your gun ? And remember the games ads that showed great 3D graphics then you click and realise the game is some 2D ugly garbage ? That's Android games.

Who thought such disastrous titles deserved their own dedicated devices ?

Of course you have emulators and the occasional one-time purchase gem like GRID, but that account for less than 5% of what people are playing on Android.

So yeah, I still fail to see the purpose of such devices, even though I admire the hardware.

I hope the someone that claims D9000/9000+ are better based on benchmark alone since before any phone with it was even out also (mediatek has been caught cheating before) is satisfied with worse performance compared to version with 8+g1.
It gets hotter. Weaker standby time (about 14h), shorter web browsing time.

Anyway, even this phone gets hot with current SoCs and need external fan to handle.
It just proves those X1/X2 cores are too bad.
                I'd rather have deca core SoC 5 x A78 + 5x A55 (or 510) than cores from X series.

By the way, saw on taiwanese website, new iphone pro max scored 65% stability when running wildlife extreme.

JoXim, 19 Sep 2022Strange...Just watched Tech Spurt review and judging by it,... moreActually the rankings goes like this:
                  1. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+
                  2. Dimensity 9000+
                  3. Dimensity 9000
                  4. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Anyways, is the very first time Mediatek manages to equal Qualcomm and even destroys Exynos hard. And despite both are behind Apple (due optimizations), it shows that now they should start to focus on efficiency and stability.

JoXim, 19 Sep 2022Strange...Just watched Tech Spurt review and judging by it,... moreOverall Gsmarena Endurance is highly affected by Standby time. Read individual score to get good picture. 6D has 24hrs in video playback while 6 pro has 19 and browsing is almost the same.

So the 8 + gen 1 is more efficient overall

Strange...Just watched Tech Spurt review and judging by it, Snapdragon version is inferior in battery endurance and not by a margin.
