A710 is stronger than A78.
X1 and X2 are far stronger than A710, consequently too strong compared to A78.
An octacore chip 4 x A710 + 4 x 510 would already be stronger than 4 x A78 + 4 x A55.
Explain chip like D8100 with 4079 multicore using A78/A55 combo.
Realme GT Neo 3.
Value that not even 8g1 can score.

Even if you overclock a lot 778 for example, it will not match 888/8g1.

In fact sd 8 g1 and even sd 8 g1 plus are throttling and not performing so great like old SD chips.
old gaming phones can be better than newest phones thanks to optimization and there is more to gaming phones than just putting the latest chip inside.

In Exager now Snapdragon Soc has partial gpu acceleration and many pc games are playable.

Asus almost never give updates to rectify issues like black crush display and ramdump bootloop. There is also always risk of an update from Asus ruining the phones, as we can see in the past with ROG Phones 3 and 5.

The CPU is pushed too extreme. Aside from editing heavy videos which I doubt many do, it's so unnecessary on a phone. Even gaming won't push it due to being too powerful. I wish we could have granular control on the clockspeeds for better thermals and battery life.
It's nice to see some competition with the Mali GPU catching up on Adreno.

I'd go with the 6 Pro for the better battery life(standby, call, web browsing), better performance(better in Open GL ES, on par in some Vulkan test, I don't care about the extra CPU power of the 6D, I don't do video editing), less throttling(the 6D has the extra vent and still throttled more, ridiculous), console emulators(better compatibility and less graphical bugs with Snapdragon chips), GCam ports.

1. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
2. Dimensity 9000+
3. Dimensity 8100
4. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
SD 8+ Gen 1 is winner because of optimizations
Why Dimensity 8100 is higher than SD 8 Gen 1 because:
8 Gen 1 has poor real world performance like very bad efficiency, thermal problems and poor stability. Meanwhile D8100 has very good efficiency, it actually beat 8+ Gen 1 and D9000 in low to mid performance but D8100 doesn't have high sailing

Tech spurt review said he has better gaming time on Dimensity (almost 5 hours for Genshin Impact) than the Snapdragon variant (3 hours of Genshin Impact)

I am pretty sure that no one buys gaming phone for a long standby time. Usually they get depleted faster than charger can give fresh juice.

JoXim, 19 Sep 2022Strange...Just watched Tech Spurt review and judging by it,... moreIt seems like that guy didn't tell us the truth, he made claims that Genshin runs 5 instead of 3 hours on the Dimensity and CoD 9-10 instead of 6 hours, I was so hyped only to get the link to this from a redditor.
Seems like this will be a disappointment and all the promises are nothing but hot air.

So the DM9000+ with those super overclocked cores are throttling the Rog 6D Ultimate like crazy since it generates too much heat without the Aeroactive cooler. For me its still the SD8+ Gen1 that's super efficient and powerful enough for smooth gaming.

Pity the 6D's aren't coming to North America; I would trade mmWave for AV1 hardware decoding. The matte gray looks nice too.
