Pixel phones used to have a secure version, but they don't anymore and Huawei, but I don't know how relevant they still are now or if they still use it. I think they still do on their Mate models.

    BTW my $400 Android phone has side mounted fingerprint sensor which has superb accuracy and speed.

Don't confuse the non-secure camera-only or IR "face-unlock" gimmick on cheap Chinese phones with the secure face unlock implemented on iPhones and some Pixels. Ignorance is not bliss in this case.

              Well i'm using both daily, with Face ID you don't need to press the scanner all the time. Face ID works in background when i'm just regularly use my phone, i don't need to think it much. Touchless biometric is future, not something which need your attention every time you use it. Android OEMs will get there too eventually, it's just matter of time when it happens.

I registered both thumbs twice. Once when they were well hydrated and once when they were dehydrated. It helped some but it's still problematic. It's a nightmare when I use different banking apps, transferring money etc. For this deficiency only I consider switching to an iphone as there is no secure alternative on android that is 1) convenient and fast and 2) available on flagships too...my old pixel 3a can still read those fingerprints just fine when my s22 ultra can't...what a shame

                        Do you have any idea how wide, fast and accurate Qualcomm's Sonic 3D Max FPS is? You just seem to be basing your knowledge on optical FPSs from 4 years ago.

                            Why would Apple use fps when they are already so much ahead with Face ID? It now even works with Face masks and also in landscape. Face ID is superior to any underscreen fps, which are mediocre at best currently.
