Had this since Black Friday, and have a few big gripes I have with it.
As a motorcyclist, I have a qi mount on the bike for the phone. Out in heavy rain the other day, and just the rain hitting the screen kept acting like finger presses, and apps opened/closed etc. etc. all from the rain hitting the screen!
The next issue is Voice Access keeps activating itself, e.g. halfway through a text message I was typing, it picked up the conversation from a couple of people a few feet away, and started transcribing their conversation into my text message!
Next off - BlueTooth and earbuds, I already had 3 different makes from over the years which have worked well with other phones and devices, but for some reason, this phone keeps dropping the connection.
Lastly, Home screen, why oh why can we not remove the Date from the display, and use a widget of our choice?
On the plus, I love the share-charging feature, flip to shush, shake to switch cameras front to back, wallet in the drop-down menu instead of having to find the icon.

I'm sure there are phones that make the games feel "smoother" but I can't really tell honestly. The pixel 7 has been amazing for me, it's done everything I wanted it to do and more for a pretty reasonable price tag compared to other phones I was looking at.

Here is a 10 points from me.. lol... Yeah, you are right, Pixel are not meant for gaming, so if you need that on your phone get the Poco or whatever. Their mission is to cramp the best possible hardware for the cheapest prices because they have a completley different bussiness model. I know most people don't care about that. But what if someone's not gaming on their phone? What if they have some other preferences like AI or camera, or user experience, or something else? Phones are more then just chipset specs. Pixel is not meant for gaming and you will notice all that BIG perfomance differences between a top flagship chispets by Snapdragon or Mediatek only in gaming. So? Why are you angry? Companies removed the 3.5mm jacks because they want bigger sales for wireless headphones, SD card is missing too because they want to sell us the cloud storage. You think people wanted that? NO! Why would they? Companies forced us to go their way and then they brainwashed us how can we use a 100 years old tech in 21st century devices which we all know is just a marketing ploy for their bigger BT headphones sales. But they are achieving their goal because people in here are really fighting over some stupid things.. like synthetic benchmarks results.. what about real life perormance? Who cares right..

            leland, 26 Oct 2022Too bad, Google tries to be 2nd Apple to do their own chip,... moreits not built to beat every other smartphone in terms of speed, its made to excell in machine learning, which is an area it smashes the competition in. The phone is powerful. its not a 14 pm or s22u, but it runs perfectly fine, and games run smooth.

                Anonymous, 25 Oct 2022Garbage battery life, no thanks the battery life is fine. i can make it through a 10 hour day at school with 75% battery life. this is with power saving off, wifi, bluetooth, location, and mobile data on, about 2 hours of periodic usage, and 4 or 5 hours of streaming music at high quality with bluetooth earbuds. the battery works wonders.

                  Which version did you review in this test. You don't seem to specify. Was it the 128 with 8 GB ram or was it the 512 with 12 GB ram?

It can't keep up to my previous P30 Pro, which would clock 7 to 9 hours on one charge. But against anything else, such as a run-of-the-mill iPhone, it's perfectly okay. The standby battery life is excellent, however. It barely drains if you don't use it, even on LTE, which was an issue for my Huawei.

                    Charging isn't bad, however. And on a 2W wireless charging pad, it takes exactly 7 hours to charge up my phone, which is exactly how long I sleep. Long ago, we criticized slow charging, but what people seem to have forgotten is that we've moved on from phones that barely lasted 6 hours of use AND standby on a full charge. I sometimes charge for an hour or less and I unplug it, knowing that 60% will be enough for at least 12 hours of light use or 3 hours of heavy use. Fast charging is just bragging rights now unless you have a phone that has truly tragic battery life. And while not the best, the Pixel 7 sure as hell isn't poor.

                        The battery is why I won't buy it. I have way faster charging and longer battery life now. I won't spend money to travel to the past. I have had to great battery phones for the last 4 years. The Pixel 7 Pro would be a 5 year time travel to the past for me. Still, I really wanted that camera in the Pixel 7 Pro. If I can't use the camera all the time because of battery life, it is definitely not worth it though. If you always stay at home and never take it outside, the Pixel 7 Pro is a great phone though...

                              All this time you have basically been in agreement with that comment which is why I find this so funny. The only thing they did was give a general example of a "trash spec" laptop. Not once did I see them say a laptop 3050 is a good spec. All I've seen so far is multiple people say a laptop 3050 is trash specs. You, me, that person you're quoting, and a few others I think have all agreed that a laptop 3050 is trash. Every time you post a link to a 3050 laptop while you yourself think it is trash proves their point. They also think 3050 laptops are trash so every time you post a 3050 laptop that proves their point. Do you understand now? It would be different if one of you actually thought a 3050 laptop was good.
