Loc, 26 Oct 2022Fast charging is not good for the battery my friend. That i... moreIt's more about the cycles you put on the battery.
My Oppo A5 2020 with 10 watt charging and X3 NFC with 33watt charging and an iphone 12 pro max used with original Apple 5 watt charger from an older iphone all 3 lasted me the same 2 year for the battery to get around 80 percent. Yes I used my phones a lot (gaming, browsing all day etc) probably more than a 1000 cycles in 2 years. The secondary phones on which I'm more careful the batteries last longer e.g. samsung C7 with 18 watt charging lasted me 4 years before I broke the screen the battery was still good for a day of light usage. Similarly my Oppo A31 (2 year old) battery is still as good as new.

Funny how a year old Mi 11 Ultra still runs circles around Pixel 7 Pro in far too many cases.
In general I prefer it to Pixel 7 Pro a LOT.

How is the endurance rating calculated exactly? For example: (talk time/web/video) for S20+ is 21:03/10:55/13:30, while P7P is 24:29/12:38/17:15. So P7P has higher hours on all 3 categories, yet it has lower endurance rating than the S20+ (P7P rating is 83h, S20+ is 87h). I'm confused.

Lol, for Indian markets, this phone will tank badly, as all the previous Pixel/Nexus phone have. You simply cannot launch a phone at this price point with almost zero after-sales support outside maybe 1 or 2 metro cities (even in these cities, the support is trash). Google has to offer a first-world country equivalent after-sales support to guarantee Pixel's success. Only then people here will think investing upward of 50k or hell even 30k in Google's offerings.

Fast charging does not have to affect battery life - proven year and year again by Vooc and other alternatives.
As Pixel 7 Pro users, charging speed does not bother me, but saying fast charging = bad; that is just a nonsense.

Loc, 26 Oct 2022Fast charging is not good for the battery my friend. That i... moreMy father's 2 years old Realme 7 Pro (with 65W charging) thinks differently. The battery is still good inside (1 day battery life with medium to heavy usage, almost like in the beginning). And my father uses his phone all the time and he charges it daily.
This is how I know the myth with super fast charging breaking your battery in 1-2 years, is busted. Of course, I am not saying the battery is 95% after 2 years, but is not 70% either. Maybe around 85-87%, which is normal degradation after 2 years. I saw a lot of iPhones with this kind of battery health after 2 years (even with super slow charging).
In my opinion, there are no excuses for Apple or Google, to still use super slow charging in 2022.

notafanboy, 26 Oct 2022Perhaps you're the deluded one here? Compare the price... moreYou're deluded because there isn't much difference in price now, only takes a search to find out. S22 still slightly more expensive but makes no difference to one who will buy these. If you spend 1000 why not 200 more? Regardless, they both are unjustifiably expensive devices. Ones who disagree are either born rich so these price tags normal to them, or, they're deluded. Most people are of second category. They think these prices are justified even if they can't afford it, or barely afford it by starving and spending over 50% of monthly income, lol. These are the unhappiest people around. I'm quite sure you belong to latter, deluded category. Lol again.

Wow! Such a support from commenters for price!
But let's be honest, this phone shouldn't be compared to 2022 flagships because of outdated tensor 2. Lets make honest comparison with 888 snap phones flagships are always overpriced for cutting edge tech, especially chips.
For example Xperia 1 III:
-World class screen "4k" @ 120HZ ✓ (better than "QHD" and no notch whatsoever)
-Iconic & unmistakable design w/ premium build ✓
-IP68 Certified & Gorilla Glass victus on all sides ✓ (well gorilla 6 on back but it's frosted!)
-Camera quality is in a league of its own ✓ (don't even try to argue, just checked comparison in GSMArena, it doesn't give you a rainbow on bw parts of ISO12233 as Pixel does, for lovers of GCam it's available for Xperia too)
-Video quality is finally improved, and on par with current flagships ✓
-Clean, pure software with no bloatware whatsoever, great support and unique features ✓
And it retails in Europe now for 700-800euro, undercuts pixel, lets assume this is cost of reduced software support. But it also have 30w charger, jack, memory card, cool purple color)))
Ah yes, I've forgot, I shouldn't have touched so praised icon, and will receive a lot of hate in response, especially from Sony haters.

I did some tests and it seems that in good light conditions, Night Sight + 15x zoom gives you slightly better results from distant objects than 10x zoom or 30x zoom.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2022You can have slower charging + healthy battery for years or... moreProblem being that all the ones you named get about as hot or hotter as an OnePlus 10pro Charging at 80W, they just get to heat for longer as well since they charge longer. Therefore the battery does worse longterm as temperature is what an battery makes age the fastest.
