No Google wanting to know your every move and every conversion to sell all your information to target advertising...o dear.

AnonD-1067345, 08 Dec 2022Nice advertisement dude... Interesting that what you see is an advertisement, wonder why you would have that as your base mindset.

The best smartphone for me personally. Heres why...

1:Privacy, its the US companies that spy on citizens that has been proven via Snowden's leaks. China doesnt care about spying on you, thats propaganda to keep you from getting a phone thats hard to track you.

            2. Google services are easily sideloaded by serveral services, not an issue what so ever. I actually see it as a bonus because theres not a whole google ecosystem thats recording your life via a phone.

            3. Expandable storage. No other flagship has this and i need this. I love having my music on me anytime, not dependent on service or subscription. And this transfers hundreds of gigs just by inserting the sd.

            4. No 5G. Thank goodness, It's more of a gimmick than anything at this point (check out mr whosetheboss and MKBHD on why this is. Rarely will you use it, takes up space, cost more, leaves less room for other specs that you actually want to use. And lets not forget the extra battery drain 5G causes. I was delightled to see it wasnt included, yet still had the latest chipset. I knew this phone would have more specs i would actually use.

            5. Kunlun Glass, incredible. Dont even need a screen protector. Much better than any other competitor

            6. Very fast charing/wireless charging.

            7. Literally the best smartphone camera on the market

            8. The look is very uniform and premium

            9. Only con is price and availibility, which can easly be overcome.

            10/10 Phone

[deleted post]Here's the funny bit. Huawei knows palm rejection. Through the two years, I used my P30 Pro and it NEVER had any issues with palm rejection.

Your concerns are valid, however. Google is TERRIBLE at palm rejection. I tap a song on Spotify, and I put my phone in my pocket while pressing the power button to turn it off. Before that has happened, my pinkie has grazed the edge and selected another song. And, that's before we talk about the proximity sensors. THEY DON'T WORK. The P30 Pro can disable its screen when you cover the screen, or present mistouches while it's in a pocket, even if you haven't turned it off. Pixel is quite happy to let any object interact with it. Most annoyingly, sleeves and palms.

This was a concern of mine regarding Samsung. Unfortunately, I don't know, and all my concerns were confirmed regarding the Pixel. That doesn't mean it's a bad phone. I'm just saying that Huawei's software is just BETTER at behaving itself.

ARTE8800, 07 Nov 2022Only 8gb Ram, no 12gb ram Its 2022 Epic failI will say, my transition from a P30 Pro with 6 GBs of RAM to a Pixel 7 Pro with 12 GBs, it's noticeable. The Pixel's battery life is rather poor, however, which is expected. It tries to keep all apps open and clearly leverages all of its RAM. It's pretty funny how I was able to juggle back and forth between Genshin Impact and Asphalt 9 without missing a beat. Both apps ran at the same time. The poor Tensor G2 was screaming, however.

Huawei tunes its software towards maximum battery life. My P30 Pro never utilized all of its RAM unless I forcibly pushed it with EMUI Desktop. And honestly, neither the P30 Pro nor the Pixel does it perfectly. The P30 Pro is too conservative and will kill any background apps just to save battery, while the Pixel keeps everything open and handles everything smoothly, at the expense of battery. I doubt that the Mate 50 Pro is any different from the P30 Pro, but if the P30 Pro can watch Youtube at 4K while scrolling through Instagram feed videos with 6 GBs of RAM, the Mate 50 Pro can do more.

"with a Quad-Bayer RYYB color filter and a stabilized 24mm lens"
The official Huawei specs don't mention the field of view. So I'd guess that it's again 23mm. At 1x, Huawei seems to use digital zoom as 1x seems to be again 27mm.

At the 10x zoom setting, the sample images show noticeably more detail than at 3.5x. That's impressive, it means that Huawei leverages the 64 megapixel mode of the sensor.

bulbulito.bayagbag, 09 Nov 2022Why do you need so much ram? the iphone has less ram than i... moreIphone users are not known for being very demanding users (minus some vloggers).
                              Every gb of RAM counts.
You do realize that with iPhone you cannot do other tasks while uploading files, for instance? Either you wait for the upload to finish or do other stuff and your file upload is on pause.

Among many things where RAM and multitasking counts big time, and iPhone needs to work on it.

Why do you need so much ram? the iphone has less ram than its android flagship counterparts. You don't hear a lot of people owning iphones complaining about it.
