Carol, 29 Nov 2022This device is anything but an insult to Nokia. An insult t... moreI'm gonna put it as simple as I possibly could, for your biased fanboy brain to understand.
Nokia phones used to be both competitive and innovative.
That was what made Nokia the NO1 brand worldwide at some point, and also why we all know the name today.
This device, HMD Nokia X30, is neither competitive nor innovative. The only reason some people could possibly be drawn to it, is if they believe in something that died a long time ago.
The Nokia Corporation took a bet with Windows Phone, they lost, and now they're gone.
HMD bought the rights to use the license, (understand the name) and they're stamping it on ODM devices (understand outsourced preconceived designs, all from china), then they ask big bucks for it like the devices are from fine Finnish development. Which they don't forget to make you believe in their marketing materials, but it's all a lie.
https://nokiamob.net/2021/01/17/large-number-of-modern-phones-including-nokia-are-designed-by-odm-companies/
Nokia Corporation is dead, and at the time I'm writing this, HMD's CEO left and no one wants the position. A telltale sign a venture is going under.
Sticking feathers up your back doesn't make you a chicken.

Cmon Nokia. You can do it. You are closing the gap with samsung and other chinese phones. I'm sure your fututre phones will sell like breads. Just lower the price a bit.

rizki1, 29 Nov 2022Xiaomi haters : MIUI is buggy, it have ads, short software ... moreNo phones with SD 695 can do 4K video regardless of brands. That is why I still keep using my Sony Xperia 10 iii. I still think SD 690 is way better than SD 695.

I found out that the Nokia G60 has the same Snapdragon 695 SoC and three OS update policy but it does have a headphone jack and microSD card support. It may have IPS LCD screen instead of AMOLED like in the X30, but it has higher 120Hz refresh rate. So really, I'm struggling to pick the X30 over the more reasonable G60.

The phone is definitely a looker as it's probably the prettiest phone in its price bracket, it's build quality is top notch but so are others in its price bracket, Nokia's flavour of android is too vanilla for this price point to the point that it has no feature that makes it stand out and finally HMD really fumbled by putting the SD 695 on this phone as the chip is so underpowered (for its price), it's the reason behind the phone's underwhelming camera performance (the chipset doesn't support 4k Video recording). Hmd would have just put a Snapdragon 7 series chip on this phone and it would be a totally different story. HMD NEEDS TO STOP PUTTING UNDERPOWERED CHIPS IN THEIR HIGH END PHONES

Xenotyro, 28 Nov 2022I thought the team at gsmarena would be the first to notice... moreGood to know that the X30 has an infrared illuminator which allows the camera to better detect faces in low light. I think it's still a 2D facial recognition though.

Anders, 29 Nov 2022This review claims the Samsung A53 doesn't have a micr... moreP.s you also claim a lot but nothing makes sense, or is real, so don't accuse GSMaren for something as useless as an sd card in phones today. The use of one in devices with 128GB storage and over is only to slow them down i cannot see any other use for it, especially if you care about your files, then you for sure should store them in a better place then on a device that can get broken, stolen or lost. If you don't care, then the need of one is even less relevant, especially when the phone storage runns at UFS connections speeds.

Just more greenwashing from companies trying to milk the eco buzzwords.
Oh, you say you care about the environment? Why TF don't they allow users to unlock the bootloader to install custom ROMs when the company stops maintaining the software? Oh, that's right, they want you to shut up and buy a new one. What is the warranty about? Will they toss the faulty devices into the landfill and just give you a new unit? Will they component-level repair those and sell them as refurbs? Until that is made more clear, this is just greenwashing to me.

Xenotyro, 28 Nov 2022I thought the team at gsmarena would be the first to notice... moreThat's pretty interesting. I've seen phones having a glowing circle around the camera on screen (especially Samsungs) but not anything else with good face unlock
