ReaLogic, 21 Jan 2023No need to blast others just because you don't know ho... moreIt's easier to fuel cars when they are wired.

No need to blast others just because you don't know how to use some features or don't use them. About the gearbox, manual gearbox last longer. Only recently has automatic barely caught up to manual in switching to the right gear and fuel efficiency. There's a reason racing cars switch to auto gearbox was so slow. Manual gearbox still have its use in farming and other situations.

Been using BT earphones for years and i have no idea why someone needs wired headphones or headphone jack. Its like when automatic gearbox came out and there were people telling that manual is way better - its like ultimate nonsense.

Forgot to mention the headphone jack as a huge plus, as someone who doesn't care about the camera at all, there are virtually no downsides to this phone.

I'd be using this right now if it had more guaranteed future support and a better camera, I love everything else. Hopefully the 10 improves on those and stays the same size.

Asus, just give me 4 years of updates and I will be always on Zenfone side. I don't like big phones, i'm fan of those phones who can be handled with one hand, and zenphone is such a phone. But Asus, seriously, 2 years of updates? My current phone is 4 years old and it's ok. Still android 10, but it's OK. And Asus only 2 major updates? Common Asus, you can do it better.

Externals and internals did not change and the camera still takes pictures. The chassis looks new under the case I put on it. Only issue: I'm receiving less phone calls and messages. Maybe noone likes me.

It's this a LONG TERM review? I would love to know how the back cover fared thru the daily usage and did it degrade. Not a single word about it but just another description what i already got from previous review

Guys if it's "LONG TERM" I would like to know how the phone stands to the test of time

It was between the Zenfone 9 and the Xperia 5 IV for me. I went with the Xperia, and I have not been disappointed.

I think the Zenfone 9 is a great device, but I will not be buying it since I want good zoom performance like my current 5.8in iPhone can offer. If the Ultrawide was replaced with a 2x telephoto I would be definitely buying the Zenfone 10, or maybe the S23.

Anonymous, 16 Jan 2023The pixel 7 is significantly larger/heavier than the S22 or... moreMy point has nothing to do with size preference.

My point is that Asus Zenfone due to limited availability, is very expensive for what it offers,no matter its comfortable size. And this is the 8/128 model i was mentioning above.

Like i said, i would also like to get a compact phone like this, but i will not pay a premium for it.
And since we are talking about flagship devices, i will certainly not buy a flagship device with poor software support.

All in all,its too expensive(in 2023)for what it offers.

Once my Asus ZenFone 8 dies I'll buy the 9. I have never enjoyed the bigger phones and I'm always looking for the next small smartphone. The Samsung s9 was always my go to until the zenphone 8. The only thing I don't like is how often I'm calling the emergency number!

Thanks for the long term review! I am considering buying this phone soon. JUST waiting to see S23 and if its big and bad battery life, i am diving into zenfone 9. S23 will have just better cameras (as s22 has snappier than zen9) but not that of a difference. Zenfone 9 sot 7 hiurs? Let's see what sot s23 will give :and then choose my new phone 📱 ))

LoneOwl, 15 Jan 2023The problem with Asus phones is mainly on the software supp... moreThe pixel 7 is significantly larger/heavier than the S22 or zenfone 9 - I would not put pixel flag ship device in the 'small' category any more, not since the pixel 5.

Small smart phones are not "weird" as far as I'm concerned, I run with phone in hand or in a pouch, or cycle with it in my pocket. I do not want to be lugging a brick around in those circumstances. Being able to use the phone one-handed is important to me too.

I hope Sony, Asus, Samsung and others continue to make "small" phones and I would be really happy if google made something with Pixel 5 dimensions again.

The problem with Asus phones is mainly on the software support, warranty and availability mostly.

And its not just the S22.
For example at this time of writing, the Zenfone 9 8/128 is at 800euro.
On Amazon France, the Pixel 7 is at 600 and the pro is on discount for 770euro.

I do like Snap8 gen1+, the flat screen, headphone jack and overall look of zenphone, but no way in hell am i paying for a 2022 android flagship full price in 2023.

And its not like Asus has the best software support or warranty to back this price up.

Phones are not just specs on paper or looks or size. You are paying for the overall package when we are talking flagships.
