7.2mm is not good to handle current SoCs. Too thin to deal with heat.

bad and expensive, X5 Pro is bargain.

ashrobb, 28 Feb 2023As expected, the SD7G1 is a disappointment thanks to the Sa... moreAgreed. Xiaomi could've just saved $50 or so and went with the older and better (!) SD778G. Or keep whatever the BoM margin of D8100 compared to SD7G1 and few will complain (if not none at all)

7 gen 1 is just snapdragon 780g. Basically same performance with 778g+

Had Xiaomi 13 Lite used Dimensity 8100 instead of SD 7 Gen 1 - that has now proven to be worse than even SD778G -, this phone would have better rating. This chip is an example of combining two undesirable traits (the inefficiency of new ARMv9 core design and Samsung foundry) into a single SoC. The SD 7 Gen 1 is what tarnishes the otherwise decent midranger from Xiaomi, besides its hefty price.

As expected, the SD7G1 is a disappointment thanks to the Samsung fab process. The relatively old 778G fares better in efficiency... This is also quite expensive for a midranger. The Redmi Note 12 Pro models once they go global should eat its marketshare alive. Dimensity 1080 also does better than this chip.

This is worse than 12 Lite, battery seems worse and not to mention a downgrade speakers. Overpriced.
