Hemedans, 28 Feb 2023Sd 7G1 is dissapointment because of Cortex A710, no amount ... moreTheir designs are suboptimal but having a bad node fab only makes things worse. As the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 proved, a proper fab process can mitigate bad designs and these chips are considered quite the improvement over the SD8 Gen 1 that was made by Samsung. Also, the A715 improves over the original A710 cores, which we can see on the SD8 Gen 2, which coupled with the TSMC node have made it an all around fantastic SoC.

Hemedans, 28 Feb 2023Sd 7G1 is dissapointment because of Cortex A710, no amount ... moreFunny story...
      - Snapdragon 780G was inferior in sustained performance but GPU wise was noticeably stronger than 778G. Even more, it was on par on 7 Gen 1, so yeah... 7 Gen 1 is 780G in everything.

      - Dimensity 9000 and 9200 suffers from the new ARM cores, in a similar fashion than Qualcomm, but the GPU is what both makes at least sustainable. Something that the Exynos won't have.

      - The Dimensity 8100 on the other side it is so balanced that despite it has not upper limit, is good enough to destroy anything Samsung has to offer, even the Exynos can fall in the sustaining performance department. Still, in raw power can't defeat the top.

      - The Mi 13 Lite has to use a overheating processor, and loses literally most of the features for USD 100 hike. A very bad deal.

So, if you have an Snadragon 780G or 778G phone, don't go with this.

Hummus , 28 Feb 2023Dayum.. People here only care about performance *sigh* Civ... moreAlmost everything else is unchanged or even downgraded from the 12 Lite, but the most obvious, glaring one would be the performance section.

Design looks great, I don&#... moreCompared to 12 Lite it might sounds like an "upgrade", but with $100 price hike (which put this onto a whole different class of rival phones), "underwhelming" is an understatement. Downgrades on battery life, performance and efficiency, removal of stereo speakers system, no notable main camera improvements (the 2x zoom even take a hit), the only saving grace might be the front camera, but that's it.

Thats Snapdragon not only came late to the global market, but the performance is not as good as people expected, mediatek definitely kill this SOC with even 2 years old dimensity 1100 and the efficiency isnt that good either. Thats must be the reason why no manufacturer willing to adopt this soc and stay with 778G.

ashrobb, 28 Feb 2023As expected, the SD7G1 is a disappointment thanks to the Sa... moreSd 7G1 is dissapointment because of Cortex A710, no amount of Manufacturing process would made it better than A78 in battery life, Even if Tsmc made it.

People forget really fast just 2 generation ago Mi 11 lite 5G had sd 780G which was made by Samsung fab, it was not as efficient as sd 778G but atleast it was more powerfull and battery life was good even with smaller 4200mah battery.

The Reason even D9000, 9200 struggle with battery life is these Arm V9 Middle and small core they are not as Efficient as A78 without massive throttling.

Enjoy your current device future Midrange soc will be same unless there is Dramatic change with A720.

Mediocre upgrade not gonna lie. Design looks great, I don't mind the island but the lack of a stereo speaker set-up, similar performance comparing to the 12 Lite but worse optimization which also drains battery faster despite the bigger battery. Also, for the price point, the lack of OIS seems odd. I would gladly take the 12 Lite for cheaper or other options in the same/ lower price range.

Even Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G seems better than this crap.

-Disappointing battery(bigger battery, more efficient chip, worse results compared to last year)
                    -android 12(wtf?)
                    -SoC similar to snap778
                    -laughable price.
-mono speaker at this price point in 2023.
-apple dynamic island copy notch(typical Xiaomi)

Is Xiaomi doing this on purpose? Did someone tell Xiaomi that the way to increase sales is by releasing worse and more expensive phones?

What the hell is going on?

Tragic flop: no ois, 8mp camera, useless 2mp macro, 7.1 seems to be bad, useless and ugly front face camera/notch, big price.
At least could have been exactly the Civi launched in China or 12 lite NE.

Mid-range phones just don't make sense anymore at these higher prices. I can buy a heavily discounted flagship from 2022 or even 2021 that stomps all over this mediocre 500e phone. Phones like this need to be 350-400 to make any kind of sense.

Civi (and in this case, Lite) is more about design than performance.
So that kind of performance is expected.

But still, Me too think that 7G1 isn't an upgrade from 778G.

I don't remember last model from Xiaomi mid range that skip stereo speakers.
They constantly have them for years even in budget price. What the hell were they thinking!?

Wow first time I saw benchmarks, sustain load and battery efficiency of SD7G1 and it really flops. Its not even consider upgrade to 778G, they should just retain it or go to Mediatek alternatives.

This explains why barely no one is using that midrange chip, now I get it lol.

As we all can see, anything under 6nm is just a big marketing stunt, without any practical usage beside paying much more for them.
Xiaomi, why the 💩💩💩 2mp and 8mp nowadays?! Just why?
Instead of these you should put ois on the main one, or a proper focus system.
I started with Redmi Note 4x when 625 was king. Now, I really don't find a single one in the Xiaomi line up to be as I want: good photo, decent chip, good battery and a good price at the right size. Is even too big, even too expensive, even 💩💩💩 camera.
This mumbling around are making people so confused that don't know if to stay in this team or to go.

7.2mm is not good to handle current SoCs. Too thin to deal with heat.

bad and expensive, X5 Pro is bargain.
