Should I make my own restaurant if I criticise a chef's food?

There are so many modern styles new techniques of reviewing smartphones geekerwan, golden reviewer DXO mark etc

Look at how poor they judge smartphone screen quality...

But gsmarena will make articles judging minor improvements in smartphones but they themselves have minor changes to their review format

HanDan01, 11 Mar 2023I doubt it though. MIUI does not have a good track record i... moreRealme also has a track record of slowing down charging speed with updates (happened to X2 Pro, GT Neo3 etc) and almost never rectify their janky high refresh rate.

once again, all these specs are wasted in a phone with less than average and useless cameras - two cameras are more than enough a proper ultrawide and good main

no one is asking for a third
they want to copy apple yet they fail to copy their camera strategy
one for budget, two for mid, three for pro

HanDan01, 11 Mar 2023You do realize that that the chip set is SD 8+ Gen 1, right... moreThe Tensor 2 in the Pixels is no slouch!

The same smartphone every month. Snapdragon, 50mp, 8mp UW, 2mp macro, 1080p, 120hz... boring

Pumpino, 10 Mar 2023No ingress protection and a higher price than the Pixel 7? ... moreRealme isn't for me anymore! Sadly, because their android ui was far more stable and better than Xiaomi!

'That's the 2023 curse, phones are getting drastically more expensive, and you should get over it.' Are they though? Last year the Xiaomi 12t pro released for €800 with basically the same specs as this (just a different main camera sensor and slower charging are the only real differences). So this is around €150 cheaper than a similarly specced phone from last year. The Oneplus 11 launched for a lot cheaper than the Oneplus 10pro. Although it is missing wireless charging and ip68 they would not account for the price difference. Personally think they should also have launched the 150w charging version globally. It would be around €50 cheaper and have better battery life based on the Chinese version.

Pumpino, 10 Mar 2023No ingress protection and a higher price than the Pixel 7? ... moreYou do realize that that the chip set is SD 8+ Gen 1, right? They have to cut some corners to offer 8+ Gen 1 in such a price bracket.

117 hour battery endurance is outstanding on a snapdragon 8 + gen 1 device.. Id be happy with that on my xiaomi 12tpro with 5000ma battery so to do it on a 4600ma battery with super fast charging is exceptional. Still waiting on android 13 miui 14 though so let's see if battery improves at all.

Anyway, gonna wait Tech Nick to do it since youtubers from India will mever show anything negative against Realme and Xiaomi

Realme is always cheating, they advertise that charging will be finished in 10 minutes an now it is 14 minutes in a 6 months it will be 20 minutes and in a year 30 minutes. I have Realme 7 pro which is advertised to 0-100% in 34 minutes and it actually charges the phone i 80 minutes.

No ingress protection and a higher price than the Pixel 7? Yeah, right.

From article - "That's the 2023 curse, phones are getting drastically more expensive, and you should get over it"

No thanks GSMarena. That's not how supply and demand works. And this is why smartphone sales are falling all over the world. People aren't going to "get over" ridiculously high prices for ridiculously awful phones.

If people keep on not buying these POS new phones, and instead hang on to their older but better phones, eventually makers are going to have to lower their prices. Or go bankrupt

650e? Realme have gone insane if they think anyone wants to pay that. I could buy a Galaxy S22+ cheaper. A Pixel 7 Pro isn't even much more expensive.

These guys peaked with the X2 Pro in 2019 and it's been downhill ever since (following the OnePlus model of getting worse and worse over time)
