I just brought Xiaomi 13 Pro today and i can tell u guys, its absolutly amazing phone. Finaly phone where night photo is just night photo. Look at this Honor, something like Vivo, night photos seems like after sunset..

This phoned thermal throttling is shockingly bad for an 8 gen 2 chip rather have 60 to 70% sustained performance than up down line

The charging speed is slower but absolutely fine and the camera isn't just a gimmick thanks to Pixel Binning. Nothing positive of this phone matters to any sensible buyer, the throttling is beyond attrocious, especially since it uses the SD 8 Gen 2..

That phone is trash. It got so much hype, but that throttling is the worst I've ever seen I believe, that's just inexcusable

I will not go back to that optical sensor that throws a few flashes of light in the dark and I use the phone in the dark at home

I thought that they gave an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The Magic 4 Pro had one. It's better than an optical one. Also they should have upgraded the front camera to the Sony 50MP 1/2.51" sensor which supports 4K24/30/60 and 1080p24/30/60/120. That would have provided a true flagship level front camera. The Ultrawide should have been the IMX989 sensor. It would have been an industry first. There could have been 2 telephoto sensors, a 2X with 1/1.28" IMX707 and an 8X with the Sony 1/2.51" 50MP sensor. That would have brought all the sensors to 50MP providing no colour shifts and giving smooth transition between lenses. 8K isn't mandatory but having unrestricted 4K60 on all cameras is a good thing.

I thought they used an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner! They had one in the Magic 4 Pro. They shouldn't have downgraded to an optical one.

Im not say that S23 is perfect phone, but it most complete until now. Charging speed on Magic 5 pro is faster ~15min than S23U, but battery drain is lot better on S23U, so it equal there. If you wan to know, for me three best smarthone so far; 1. P30 Pro 3 Mate 20 Pro 3 Mate 10 Pro . Those three are most complete phones ever for me. This S23U is also very very good phone on every category. I hope Xiaomi 13 ultra will have 4k selfie camera and better telephoto camera than S23U.

Hopefully the reviewer will actually fill in the usual numerical score in the audio section. The whole review appears badly edited. A pity as the reviewer does know his stuff.

Great device! If only they can expand their market to more areas.. in Norway you have no choice, only Samsung apple Sony.. American colony

I think the fingerprint sensor is Ultrasonic. They could have bumped up the display resolution to 1440p. The front camera could have been a 50MP Sony sensor with 1/2.51" with 4K24/30/60 and 1080p24/30/60/120 support. The Ultrawide camera could have increased in size as well. These changes would have gone long distances.

On presentation of this phone they say battery is the best on the market, but not even better than Xiaomi 13 Pro, S23U and 14pro max are far better battery drain. Charging speed also is not that fast. Display is good, but camera is not the best for sure. Phone have problem with overheating. GPU throtle and 4k recording is limited at 15min (c'mon, its '23), 8k recording is missing. So, lot worse than they announced. Only two top notch globaly released phone so far this year S23U and Xiaomi 13 Pro. If we consider the prices(on release date) beetwen these two, S23U is best option even they dont put charger and case into package. Sadly but everything i wrote is true...

If you go to lowlight I think the detail level looks better than the others you mention, looking at various items like the squarebob sponge pants, the donkey and various other items. There is also virtually no noise in lowlight photos too. The Samsung has quite a bit of noise and the two Xiaomi's also have some noise. The lowlight photos that are in the same setting as the Xiaomi 13 pro also seem to retain more details across the frame (especially on background grass, and trees) and have less noise also. However, moving to lowlight video all the others look better than the magic 5 pro in the studio set up. I think the lowlight video quality needs improvement to match Xiaomi and Samsung. Photos are the strong suit of the Honor Magic 5 pro. In terms of photos they should also offer a portrait option with the telephoto lens. Not sure why there is none

It's interesting to look at the studio setup comparison of the tube map with the mate 50, s23 ultra and 12s ultra.
The s23 is oversharpened whereas the Huawei mate 50 is soft and lacks details, the Xiaomi 12s ultra does better than the 13 pro, but the Honor magic 5 pro is very good nonetheless considering they are also cropping like Huawei, whether it deserves the number 1 score for texture on dxomark is questionable but I think it looks better than the mate 50.
