It would also explain why the A546B owner in the sub-reddit is getting 500 MBps speeds, because they probably haven't yet installed the update.
It also explains why the A546E is getting 500 MBps speeds since it still didn't get any firmware updates, and hence the UFS storage remains 'unoptimised'.
This is all pure speculation, so take it with a grain of salt. I could be very wrong in this regard.

But t... moreI have a theory - that all models of the A54 have UFS 3.1 But out of the box it is 'unoptimised'. Hence why they are getting UFS 2.2 speeds. This can probably be fixed by software updates. In fact, Samsung just rolled out a software update 10 days ago

Note that only the A546B got this update. Meaning that the UFS 3.1 in the A546B got optimised whereas the one in the A546E's is still unoptimised since it didn't get updated.

Not everyone wants a phone with the best processor, some people want a overall good phone with a great display, good durable build, a good camera, good speakers, and great software support. Some people use their devices more for making calls, taking photos and watching media. That is this device target audience, people who don't need the best processor, but need an overall good, reliable smartphone.
