Zen, 16 Jun 2023I dont know why this radwind guy is laughing, probably a po... moreThe display is actually very nice. Not in the default settings though. Just go into settings and add about 10% of saturation AND reduce gama by 10%. The overall brightness is just enough for comfortable use on sunny days, could have been a little bit better.
The same goes for audio output. Stock settings are hissy, flat and dull but once you disable the Dolby and enhancements, the clarity is good and you can reduce the mid/treble by eq.
I'm on the F5 for over a week now. I have a second unit because I didn't like the color I selected. I have to say that the first one had much better feel of the lock button but the fingerprint detection was worse. Not really consistent quality with these phones it seems.
The camera performance is quite decent so far. The OIS works nicely. I miss nice telephoto module.
Overall I'm pretty satisfied but I miss the SD card slot a lot. I like to transfer images from my camera to phone and keep them there. The internal storage is quite limiting factor even with 256gb.
The aesthetics is not a pro of this device. The back is plastic and it cannot be hidden.

My rating:
Display 8/10 - more brightness would be nice
Audio output 7/10 - Clear output with proper settings, mid/treble is more significant in comparison with others
Speakers 6/10 - lack of bass, quite loud
Camera - 7/10
Form factor - 8/10 - weight to size is balanced, very thin bezels are nice
Performance (10/10) - I don't play any games so I cannot really rate this. But it is very smooth for daily use.
Screen is very responsive.
Battery 7/10 - I was expecting a little bit better endurance from 5Ah battery, but still it is hard to go below 30% on the end of the day. The fast charging is great and 15 minute break at the charger would give you enough power for half day use.

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2023No heat wave in AfricaWell in Africa probably temp in winter goes down to +10C and it's already panic.
So probably normal temp in summer is around +30C without heatwave.

I am from a country where in winter temp can go as low as -30C but average coldest month is around -10C to -20C and that is more in the inland as close to the sea is wormer as the sea is warming up the land near it. This year no heatwave reach to my country as it's normal +15C to +20C with a lot of rainy days. When there be heatwave it be like +30C to +35C.

So even without heatwave the temp should be high in Africa and also depends where in Africa as that is a large continent

"Sustained performance 64%" in Throttling Test.
My Poco F2 Pro did a 30 minute test and dipped to 94%. I believe the SD 865 is the #1 most gpu-cpu balanced SoC ever made.
I really wonder why F5 can't cool a upper mid range chipset with it's vapor chamber selling point.
Cooling was something Poco was good at I thought...
It's really a shame since the SD 7 Gen 2 is a killer SoC that can outperform the SD 8 Gen 1 on CPU.

Was planning on upgrading to this, but I'll skip it and go for the OnePlus 10T for just 100€ more with a SD 8+ Gen 1 and 16gb/256gb.

My last phone Redmi note 5 Ai dual cam also heat up when charging with it's 18W charger.
Didnt also reduce lifespan on the battery as i used the phone for 5 years and in that time lost like 20% of battery life that is totally normal

Justman, 24 Jul 2023No one has said it, but I think the poco f5 has 2 big negat... moreFirst of i have F5 8/256 version and i have not felt it being hot ever. Well actually once when i was sun baking and played candy crush or something and the phone got warm but that was basically under the sun even tough i hold the phone in the shade but then again i was like in a greenhouse too so it made sense.

4K on 60fps video recording is for who exactly or who even buy poco to care for the camera and video recording ? If you want that then go with F5 Pro that have your 60fps video recording on 4K or 24fps on 8K

this heating issue is probably cause of the environment where you are like the heat waves we have had past weeks all over the world. Well not where i live of curse as in Estonia it's typical rainy season rather then heat wave or something.

Camera 4K 60fps is just nitpicking to have something to complain about

I have the poco f5, if you use gcam you have access to 4k 60fps.
It doesnt heat in idle and not much on load.

It does get hot when using 67w charger. I dont recommendthe use of that charger for too long periods

No one has said it, but I think the poco f5 has 2 big negatives. 1...the phone gets very hot, even when the phone is normally idle...
2..The other negative is that the camera doesn't support 4k 60 fps.

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2023The phone has IP53 water resistance, meaning it will surviv... moreIt survives the drop in the water bucket too like any other phone.
If you leave it soak for few days then even that higher number of IP rating wont survive

To be honest i never understand the point of the IP rating as water damage wont go under warranty anyways so it's more of a placebo effect for you on water resistance

It's basically same as higher cost cake taste better over same cake that has lower price that virtually have no difference but when you ask to taste test and show price then people will always say the higher cost cake taste better

Display brightness and battery life could be better. Other than these, it is a nice phone.
