Camera qulity is bad as usual

    the point is sony offers little and yet they asking higher price. I miss Sony, I hope they came back with sensible price at sensible specs

          Of course you can get a faster 4K supporting CPU, in exchange for 1/3 of it's battery life.

                Are you aware just Core being there even if you dont use it consume power? Core wont go to 0ghz it will idle somewhere 500 or 800mhz, so having 2 Core idle 500mhz all the time and having 4 cores idle 500mhz all the time you think battery will be the same?

                  "UI is not smooth", this is very common problem on UFS 2.1 storage, not on 2.2

                    The problem of 10 is the price tag. This is an excelent phone for an entry level Sony offer, not a mid-range price offer.

                    I think whats missing is a true mid-range phone offer from Sony. A phone between 5 and 10, maybe a new 7 lineup with the mid-range SD, HRR, 4k video rec and close to 3x optical zoom, of course at the cost of a not so stellar battery and weight.

                    You will tell me, go for the 5. I disagree. Sony Xperia 5 should be an atempt make 1 more compact remaing same chipset and cameras from 1 as much as possible. It was wrong when they took out periscope camera from 5 IV. In this line of thinking I would call 5, Sony Xperia 3 instead.

                      2 cores would use that much sure, but it will take longer to complete that task, so same efficency. Thats where 4 cores at lower clocks come in.

                        Use your own example 4 cores were using 3.3W at 2.0ghz it means 2 cores would use 1.15W its simple like that.

                        2xbig core would always use less power than 4xBig cores.

                            No it doesnt. Why tf u asking again why you should underclock? I'm comparing 2x a78 of 695 vs 4x a78 of 778g, not the tasks done by a55, but by the middle/prime cores. Going by the 8g2 example you should see even higher gains in 695 vs 778.

                              Is even the 6 Gen 1 too difficult for Sony to purchase? It's not a huge improvement but at least a refreshed one can make the phone more appealing. At least they could have brought back 4K recording to the 10 V if it's a 6 Gen 1

There are lot of cpu which dont scale well with frequency, the more frequency you increase power consumption increase Exponentially. So Running cpu at Higher frequency and other at low frequency show nothing, you can see how 13900K and 7950x behave in higher frequency.

                                And Yes it has everything to do with A510, why in the first place you should downclock A715/A710 to accomplish task? Because A510 will need more power, if A510 were as efficient as A55 that task would be acomplished by less power. Techpotato has Same graph i posted before but with A710, A715 and A510 if i get time i will post numbers here

                                  Let me give you - 2 x a715 + 2 x a710 at 2.05ghz scores 2700 at 3.3w > 2x a715 + 1x a710 at 2.8ghz scores 2700 at 4.7w.


                                  Please ffs ignore a510 and a55, they arent even tested here.

                                    And as i told you before that case was only possible due to A510 inefficiency, A55 efficiency is well known and there so many data to prove here

                                    Check D1200 score there,
                                    A55 scored 0.62 while use 0.18W
                                    A78 scored 2.57 while use 1.13W

                                    If you do Simple Math per 0.1W
                                    A55 score 0.34 per each 0.1W
                                    A78 score 0.22 per each 0.1W

                                    So A55 is like 1.5 more efficient than A78.

                                    Thats why you never see during A55 era soc reduce A55/A53 cores in favour of Big cores, we had Deca core but small cores were there. But A510 is another story it use too much power to the point even Big core at lower frequency can do the job.

                                      This is the worst option you can consider. If you only care about battery life then sure it might be worth considering it but the rest is just average if not below average for such price. Shameful.
