799 for what? Last years was 469 and offered…nothing? So this year you pay a lot more for last year phones specs? Alot more money for no charger? There are a lot more of chinese phones who destroy that one, just that you need to be smart :).

And the nothing phone supports usb-pd so all chrgers with USB-pd would work. Currently, I am using a Samsung super fast charger for my nothing phone 1.

You can easily recognize a phone as Nothing Phone from its back. It makes it have a unique identity even though its mostly a gimmick. So changing the design this year would make this phone no longer recognizable from other similar looking phones. So keep the glyph led design in the back this year is a good design decision when it comes to making your phone be easily recognizable in the public. And its still a neat party trick too as its not gotten old yet. Next year would be a good time to change the design a bit but this year keeping the same design is the best decision.

Carol, 15 Jul 2023So, you're not just insulting europeans and americans,... moreYeah you got that one thing right I would totally buy an Nothing Phone 2. I have a Z Flip 3 exactly because I'm a "form over function" person so yes, I'm attracted by the LEDs just like a moth. And a lot of other people would the same, they would be led by aesthetics and marketing, also hype.

very decent phone even without the gimmicky glyphs this is a good offer and besides of that the price hike is justifiable because I'm sure the Phone 1 was sold at a lost to gain momentum and the Phone 2 must be sold with profit to fund the rest of the company and R&D for further phone development. I am thinking of getting Nothing.

The Glyph lights are useless as majority put their phone down display up. IMHO total gimmick idea and with this price range id rather go with ASUS Zenfone 10 and they even give an charger in the box.
The charger is one of the most important devices an mobile device needs and everyone goes with apples stupid idea of e waste and they even endorse more e waste as every charger before the new ideology had an USB A port and after the shift they became usb c and even the cable with the phone changed to usb c to c. They really should focus on real hardware updates or move on to every other year releases. hypocrits

For that price, this gimmicky hardware is pretty cringe. That nothingburger CEO thinks that this phone line is some established "premium, le gamer aesthetic" that warrants a bloated price just because. Guy is running his company into the ground with his arrogance.

Samsung tried with their tizen os, it failed so bad that only some of their samet TVs use it now. Huawei hyped up their 'harmontOS' after the sanctions, and it ended up being an android fork. Ubuntu touch and other Linux flavours tried and ended up being cancelled or abandoned (uTouch only work on select few devices). Developers don't even release tablet optimised versions of their apps, expecting that they will port their apps to a new OS is nothing more than a delusion.

In Poco F5 pros review, this is what the writer said at the end

'''''One may argue that last year's phones shouldn't be recommended over a freshly released 2023 phone, but the F5 Pro isn't running the latest hardware, does it? The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC makes the case for a 2022 flagship easier.

The handset is easily outclassed by many 2022 flagships offering longer software support and better hardware overall. '''

For some reason though, we dont see 2022 flagships being mentioned/compared to Nothing phone 2(except Zenfone 9(, which would of course make it a bad deal.

Gsmarena compares Poco F5 pro with Oneplus 10T, yet in Nothing phone it compares it with Nord 3.....

Thats where the 4.4 stars came from.

Instead of creating a phone, they must create there own Mobile OS, there are already over saturated android mobile phone manufacturers. So, if any new mobile maker wants to survive in this market create something else than android, otherwise, its a waste of investment, altogether.

If this phone had IP67 water and dust resistance, 65W fast charge, UFS 4.0 storage and pixel-ish cameras, it would be a no-brainer to pick one up right away. It's still a solid upgrade from the phone one, also like those glyph lights begging for attention
