Well that's already explained anything. 💀 I only installed English sub + English VA though, that's why it's "still" on 26GB. And yep it will grow larger every updates.

We also both know that the game will be getting continuesly larger.

Pixel 8 is gonna be €875. Way worse phone with SoC inferior to 8g1.
Iphone 15+ surely above €1100 with SoC from last year.
Pixel 8 : €875 (128GB), €950 (256GB)
Pixel 8 Pro : €1235 (128GB), €1310 (256GB) , €1461 (512GB).

I nearly filled up my 400gb sd card on my LG that only has 128gb memory and it's not getting slowed down at all.

It seems that Sony have settled down to serve a relatively small but high-margin niche market with relatively wealthy customers in mind who are willing to spend the extra Dollar in order to own an exclusive product - for the sake of brand name, for the sake of micro SD/audio jack in a modern flagship or because of the beautiful form factor. Or just because of the scent of exclusivity to have phone that 99.9% of people do not have.

While also doing screen recordings, and playing games like genshin, hearthstone.
A flagship phone with 128GB Internal is like an Gaming PC with 512GB, with no Option to get more internal storage, only external.

My personal use case is very different from yours (no games, no big apps etc), so for me a large, cheap memory is most welcome, even if its relatively slow.
It all depends on how one wants to use the phone.
Now, it would be great, if modern flagships would have both, large internal memory plus micro sd card memory option.
