It is supposed to fix the battery drain issue. If you haven't yet and then after you get the update, could you let us know if the battery life is better?

I purchased this phone 3 days ago. First of all; Battery. Yes,it can finish fast. How fast? Depends of how you use it. I think that people that use the phone, late at the afternoon should plug it. But it charges fast. In a quarter of an hour you have reached 40-50% (not sure exactly,I wasn't counting...). Speakers are impressive! Very loud, you shouldn't have any problem, even in a crowded area. Of course don't expect bass you should buy a proper speaker if you have such expectations! Not only with Edge 40 Neo but with any smartphone! Screen. Very bright, I can see it while wearing sunglasses but I didn't do the test under the sun yet. I think I will have no problem neither. Vivid colours by default. Sometimes doesn't catch fingerprint reader but not often. Works well, generally speaking. Face ID excellent. Extremely lightweight and handy! Especially for me that I have small hands. Camera. Very good during day. During night introduces motion blur and if you are near a light source beams get in the way. Good colours. I need to test it more during night to have a good assessment. It seems bright enough though the night photos I have taken so far. Bigger issues motion blur and street lights but I haven't played with the camera enough yet. Price terrific! I can see why it seems better choice than Samsung galaxy A54. Very close generally speaking and a huge gap in price! Even for me that I am perfectionist. We are talking about just 400€ guys come on! In Dxo Mark I think that in global smartphone phone ranking it's 109 the A54 and 103 the 40 Neo and we are talking for AT LEAST 100€ difference! Performance. I have read some comments about the processor but I can tell that it runs fast and does not heat. And is Ready For. I tried it on my smart TV and it works very well. A real computer. Equal to Samsung Dex. But I have to notice that it has USB type 2.0. So you can't have video output by it. But, through Miracast I watched X'men with no issues at all. Same for my videos at 1080p. Microsoft word works and Gmail as well. Very convenient. I have some control issues in console mode but I didn't watch the tutorial about the controls in that mode so I will give it a second chance. But it fills the screen in the right way with no frame drops.

Its seems Motorola has issued an update to fix the poor battery performance. It would be good to see GSM Arena re run the battery test.

With very light usage my wife is getting 5+ days. She isn't a typical user but does have WiFi calling on and Bluetooth and were are on a poor signal area. Can't really comment on battery for watching videos and playing games but for day to day usage the battery is fine and on standby is very good. Processor appears perfectly adequate for regular phone usage, again accept it will be rubbish for gaming. Camera is meh, but I usually use a pixel so I'm spoilt.
Overall, for a light user it is a really nice handset. £254 in UK with free Bose quiet comfort 2 buds.... Can't argue with that value!

People: Good chipset
But...... moreThe Exynos 1380 is bad for its price range, not for its overall hardware.
A lot more people would openly accept it if it was put in a phone that's at least a $150 cheaper than the A54.
Simply put, at the A54's price, you can get much more performance on phones from competing brands, thanks to their much faster chipstet. THAT's what makes it bad.

Anonymous, 26 Sep 2023Edge 40 Neo: Dimensity 7030 People: Good chipset But...... moreNot a bad chip bad at all. I have watched 10 or so video reviews of NEO on YT and everyone says "good everyday performance with no stutters and apps opening very quick". But of course it can't handle Genshin Impact on higher settings. Exynos is better than before? Good if it is. Exynos was for many years the reason why many didn't buy Samsung flagships here in Europe.

But...
Galaxy A54: Exynos 1380 (more powerful and efficient than the Dimensity 7030)
People: Bad chipset

atichko, 26 Sep 2023Am doing just that it seems to be better than mentioned in ... moreAfter all, modern phones have larger batteries with skinny tall displays, where companies wouldn't have thought it was possible back in 2016. And Mediatek chipsets appear to be more efficient with every generation, so it's likely that would've affected the battery performance in this phone.
5000mAh is more than enough imho, considering that I use my Nokia 8 for 2-3 days with a tiny 3000mAh battery lol
