Nothing new here, an iPhone with the same issues I've experienced on my 13 Pro. At least this time we get a new telephoto and the long awaited type C port...

TBF for that CPU and GPU heavy throttling issue, it definitely doesn't deserve a 4.6 rating.
Last year 14 Pro Max was far more superior than this junk.
Sadly with all these downgrades I rather to pass this one and go with an Android.

On the French site lesnumeriques their iPhone 15 Pro Max went up to 49°C and they find that normal... This is unacceptable

It looks like a really good phone, in the uk it will be insane money though, looking between £1200 to £1700ish for the 1tb option, all top flagships come under £1000 (xiaomi and oppo its like £800 for the flagships), it'll do well on contracts though (even though you're paying what, £60+ with upfront cost of phone for it). Good battery, has a very good screen with HDR formats for content consumption, one of the best video recording options on a phone, finally usb C, very good speakers too. Charging needs to be improved but we know thats wishful thinking.
Also gsm no, the gpu in actual gaming performance, is more on par with a mali g78-mp22 in fp 32 single precision performance (about 2.1 teraflops of performance, 8g2 is 3.4 teraflops). Thats essentially what "gaming" metrics are for console and gpus so no its only merit is its got compareable ray tracing performance to top flagship SoCs.

AnonD-1121190, 28 Sep 2023I think bcos they opted for strong GPU.. nothing too catast... morePart of tech media believes the 3nm is not as good as tsmc wanted. Then the improvements were going to be small, what they also believe made Apple use higher frequency than expected as "marketing purposes" (aka better benchmarks).

I knew it.
12MP photos using HDR, then upscaled to 24, because ISP has no power/speed to do HDR at 24 or 48. Which is same case of any other phone.
Exactly impression gsmarena has. But someone will be denying. 🤷🏻♂️

So despite the bigger battery, it gets worse battery life than both Iphone 13pm and even iphone 14pm.
Heavy gpu throttling(good thing they marketed this as a console gaming phone).
At least the camera is good, but overall kind of underwhelming.
But hey, its an iphone so it will sell a lot, especially since base iphone 15s are cut down heavily spec wise.
