To be honest the main draw for me was the aspect ratio 1920x1200 as it displays full HD content in its native form (instead of stretched in the more ubiquitous 2000x1200). But as to why, I'm guessing Xiaomi has excess inventory of Snapdragon 680 and wants to take on Huawei in the budget tablet category (Matepad SE boasts the same SOC).

What do you mean by "display through USB port"? It's domething confusing that not even random Chinese brand will invent.
