To be honest the main draw for me was the aspect ratio 1920x1200 as it displays full HD content in its native form (instead of stretched in the more ubiquitous 2000x1200). But as to why, I'm guessing Xiaomi has excess inventory of Snapdragon 680 and wants to take on Huawei in the budget tablet category (Matepad SE boasts the same SOC).

What do you mean by "display through USB port"? It's domething confusing that not even random Chinese brand will invent.

I still fail to understand the raison d'etre for this device when the original Redmi Pad, with a 25% more potent Helio G99 chipset, was and is the same or a cheaper price.. and is identical in every meaningful way.
Please can someone explain this to me?

I have bought one and it will not play 2k or 4k drone footage that I have recorded but will play and stream movies perfectly. So that is a huge drawback for me and I do not understand why it cannot play at least 2k video from the DJI drone
