Is the S24 any good? Or shall I buy the iPhone 15? Similar price but need an upgrade but people are constantly complaining about the battery life. I’m unsure. Any help would be appreciated. I’m coming from iPhone 12

80% increase in pixel count is not insignificant when it comes to graphics rendering or battery drain no matter the illumination level.

        There is still some difference.

MarOMG, 01 Feb 20247 years of OS updates sounds great. But would you want it? ... moreI just bought a S24 to replace my S8.
It is only this month that I started to see applications that cannot be upgraded or installed because the Android version is not supported anymore. Also, I had to switch to Brave to navigate on the Internet. Other browsers are now too slow on the S8. And of course I had to replace the battery one year ago.
Note that I don't play on the S8. I used it for communication and internet browsing. In average 5 hours SOT.
I think I should be able to use the S24 for 6 years.

Then light web browsing. Listening music over LTE screen locked. It was from 97 to 85 in 2 hours. Then little more light browse and more music. In 4 hours it was 69%. I don’t know why there are so big refresh frates etc when batteries don’t last at all. Also i had Iphone X, SE 2020. And they don’t drain so quick. Im kinda afraid to buy an android phone now. How on earth should i know which one have good or bad battery. I also returned my Pixel 8 pro. With different Iphones i used over the years i never had battery issue when phone was new. Until they are like 3-4 years old. Then it’s normal.

What about the 50 mega pixel full resolution mode quality and its samples ??? FWIW, a lot of us do care about full resolution modes on our androids, especially for daylight photos.

Looks like Samsung has toned down the sharpening, which is very good. I have an S23 ultra and pictures are so sharp that they look ugly on any screen bigger than the phone.
There is a picture softening in Camera Assistant app, but it looks like the softening is applied after processing the picture with default Samsung processing, which means, it over-sharpens first and then softens the picture. This defeats the purpose. Samsung should add the option to tone down the sharpening in the Camera assistant, instead of Softening.

Is there any chance that this new processing will be given to S23 series camera as part of One UI 6.1 upgrade? Did they rolled the over-sharpening to S22 series part of One UI 5.1 upgrade?
