Tata86, 02 Feb 2024I have sent back my Exynos S24(6.2”).Ohh boy,the battery li... moreI had very similar situation with my Pixel 8 pro. Overnight flight mode drain was 2%. Then light web browsing. Listening music over LTE screen locked. It was from 97 to 85 in 2 hours. Then little more light browse and more music. In 4 hours it was 69%. I don’t know why there are so big refresh frates etc when batteries don’t last at all. Also i had Iphone X, SE 2020. And they don’t drain so quick. Im kinda afraid to buy an android phone now. How on earth should i know which one have good or bad battery. I also returned my Pixel 8 pro. With different Iphones i used over the years i never had battery issue when phone was new. Until they are like 3-4 years old. Then it’s normal.

What about the 50 mega pixel full resolution mode quality and its samples ??? FWIW, a lot of us do care about full resolution modes on our androids, especially for daylight photos.

Looks like Samsung has toned down the sharpening, which is very good. I have an S23 ultra and pictures are so sharp that they look ugly on any screen bigger than the phone.
There is a picture softening in Camera Assistant app, but it looks like the softening is applied after processing the picture with default Samsung processing, which means, it over-sharpens first and then softens the picture. This defeats the purpose. Samsung should add the option to tone down the sharpening in the Camera assistant, instead of Softening.

Is there any chance that this new processing will be given to S23 series camera as part of One UI 6.1 upgrade? Did they rolled the over-sharpening to S22 series part of One UI 5.1 upgrade?

The only difference could be a bigger display. The Exynos does okay this time around, but it still seems less efficient overall, which comparisons between it and the 8Gen3 will show too

They took it too far, but on the another direction this time. Sharpness is reduced to the point where even edges are undefined and noise reduction is non-existent to the point that grains are visible on ISO25 images. They just can't seem to find the balance.

                              [deleted post]So?

They surely seem to have toned down sharpening from the S23 series, but now the photos coming out of S24's main camera are just way too soft, it's almost like the lens itself isn't resolving a lot of details to begin with. They are very noisy regardless of lighting conditions, too - Realme GT5 Pro with an equally sized sensor somehow manages to clean up noises while maintaining a comparable amount of details (a tad oversharpened, though), so it's clear that Samsung is doing something wrong here.

I have sent back my Exynos S24(6.2”).Ohh boy,the battery life was insanely horrendous. No more than 3.5-4hrs with bare usage,10-15% down just sitting on table and doing nothing in 2hrs.100% to 80% in 29 minutes just surfing on the net.Screen at 20%,no Bluetooth,60HZ,no haptics,WiFi only. Many had the same issues(read on Reddit). So I don’t think these are faulty units but this is how bad the Exynos version is.Just to compare my 2.5 years old iPhone 13 mini(wanted to trade in) with 80% battery capacity lasted 1.5 longer with heavy use.

And probably a price hike, which would be terrible because it is same price as S series here.

If Asus upped their support game I would gladly get one, even if it gets a price hike.

As long they fix the silver ring around the selfie cam and OS support.

Smallworld, 01 Feb 2024Are they reviewing the 128Gb version or the 256 one? Yeah, seems they intentionally missed out that. Probably the 128 one (because Exynos).
