1440p resolution destroy the battery life compare to 1080p of S23+.

Does this phone utilize software proximity sensor or a hardware based one ?
What about the Xperia 5 V, Does it have hardware based sensor ?

[deleted post]Only upgrade in price. Nothing else

No!!! Of course it's quite much better than last year's S23+. GSMArena's ratings means usually absolutely nothing (to me). They present just a rough opinion and a comparison based on other latest flagships they have recently reviewed and so forth and value for money also included. S24+ is of course an amazing phone but it's too expensive for my budget.

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2024Everyone complains about throttling in the Exynos 2400 but ... moreWell people need to learn that throttling isn't a bad thing in itself. It's a way to keep your device cool while maintaining most of it's performance. And yes modern flagship chips are so much powerful that they do throttle more than what it used to be in past but still they are far ahead of older chips.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2024Just shows X cores should not exist. Quad A720 + quad A... moreCould there be a 7G3 along those lines? That on the latest TSMC node would be the best chip for most people, surely.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2024Just shows X cores should not exist. Quad A720 + quad A... moreDimensity 9300 has proven that X-cores can be very efficient as long as you don't clock them too high and we absolutely *don't* need A5xxx series cores on a flagship phone.

Quad A720 + quad A520 would be more than enough to replace A78/A55 SoCs.

Everyone complains about throttling in the Exynos 2400 but everyone seems to forget that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has similar if not worse throttling just check the Rog Phone 8 review, despite being a gaming phone the throttling was huge and even if the throttling is solved with the fan, it still heats up to 52°c (again just check the Rog Phone 8 Pro review), similarly the Red Magic 9 Pro didn't have a great sustained performance and it couldn't even complete the 3DMark test due overheating even with the fan

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2024But this benchmark turns the screen off during calling, so ... moreYou do not know ... you have not seen.
Also, even phones from same brands that use same SoC and battery, you can have very different call times.
No matter if modem comes from supplier A or B, bad signal can happen anytime to any phone.

My phone has qualcomm SoC, sometimes signal bar is no more than 3/4 full. That is on my carrier, not the device.

Alex, 02 Feb 2024Same terrible picture quality as S24 has, ultrawide belongs... morePictures quality is not the Best but very good. Most important is better than s23, more natural, not oversharpening and not oversaturated.

I must say how much Pixel OS is faster, smoother and overall nicer than OneUI, which feels slower and more unhurried than iOS and clunkier than some of chinese ROMs.

                                CamoGeko-XDA, 02 Feb 20244.3???? This device is easily a 4.5 if not 4.6 stars. ... moreIt's 4.3, not 3.3
.2 of a point is really nothing

Ender2002, 02 Feb 2024For me the most important at a phone is camera quality and ... moreIt works fine. You don't have it, so don't talk rubbish.

                                    4.3????

This device is easily a 4.5 if not 4.6 stars.

                                    You guys are lacking.

For me the most important at a phone is camera quality and battery life.
I don't care about benchmarks and gaming (I have a laptop gaming for that). For me, excelent modern cameras and a SDM 865 is enough to take pics, to navigate web, Facebook, insta, whatsapp etc...and I don't care about "circle to search".
S24+ has good cameras but the same bad Exynos, less efficient than Sanodragon and throttling so much... Samsung should be banned to sell exynos chips inside EU

                                        It's such a weird device.
On the one hand, it's got a lot going for it. The physical hardware and dimensions are great. The 7 Year support is perfect. And many aspects are just brilliant.

But then you have things that are not perfect.
Screen can't go down to 1Hz, Exynos is not that efficient, Camera lacking certain abilities, it also lacks many features that flagships used to have a decade ago, they void the warranty if you root the device or modify software in any way.

Then you look at the price.
Yeah, the cable and charger situation is annoying. And so is the root. But having to pay that much money to then put up with all the things makes it a very difficult purchase. If this thing was USD $600 price, it would be fine, not perfect, but not bad. But once you go above USD $800 price then yeah the consumer is right, and they should be getting more and more. As it stands at equal/over USD $1000 it really is a very difficult purchase to make.
