Super Android 22, 07 Feb 2024A silent minority, i know NO ONE that ever asks about a ful... moreWell, I know plenty of people (myself included ) that's sticking to midrange phones with SD card and headphone jack support just because the high end devices don't have them ( and Sony high end is just outrageously expensive and their market presence is not great). The availability of a SD card has been a lifesaver for me especially when the phones start to bootloop due to a degraded battery after about 5 years of use.
As for the full res photos, I personally have benefitted a lot from that, especially when I use it for outdoor pics on sunny days. Taking a high res picture with OIS and cropping it gives much better and sharper photos than taking a non stabilised photo from the telephoto cam and getting an image with some blur (I use a mid range device as I mentioned). I NEVER use it for indoor shots, I'd rather get the benefits of pixel binning instead for indoor shots.
I've been visiting gsmarena since their earliest days where they reviewed Nokia 6600s, N70s, Sony Ericsson k700i s and the likes. Their reviews used to be SO DETAILED and useful back then. They used to review critical things like CALL QUALITY which actually was related to the #1 function of mobile phone.
But it's sad to see that their review quality has gone downhill as they have started catering to the 'tik tok'generation, now they are just glorified spec readers.
Never though I'd say this but PhoneArena reviews seem to be more in depth in comparison now...

Stoon, 07 Feb 2024SD8 gen 2 is a midrange ??? L.O.L🤦 Dude, the 8 Gen 3 is the current flagship chipset from Qualcomm. Now brands use previous flagship chipsets for their midrangers. You lived under a rock until now or...?

Was finally able to hold and go through a oneplus12 r today in the store, i mean what a piece of garbage smartphone its is for 759Euros. I mean it was actually slower than my newly bought POCOX6PRO just Yesterday. I mean this thing is a bullet, its so much faster , snappier and even smoother than the oneplus12 r. and its very wierd cause it has a flagship Chip 8 Gen 2 and the POCOX6 PRO has an average mediatek 8300 so...maybe its the UI or the bad implementation that the oneplus12R did with the 8GEN2 or maybe its just a failed company these days ,but yeah just get the POCOX6 PRO and put 320-350 Euros in the pocket.

I am surprised you didn't mention the S23 series in competition. Massively better devices for around the same or a bit higher price.

Headphone Jack., 07 Feb 2024Gsmarena, why did you guys stop commenting on the FULL RES... moreA silent minority, i know NO ONE that ever asks about a full resolution mode when taking pictures. Like headphone jack and card users, still a massive minority now and unfortunately for those people and yourself but the companies arent going to focus on what isnt going to make them money/increases manufacturering costs to improve hardware etc (not saying its right or wrong, just how money and the world works).
Plus most full res modes on camera apps dont improve the quality, maybe it does if you're a professional photo editor, i dont know, but ive never needed to use it for zoomed shots, ultrawide shots, macro shots, portait shots or standard wide shots even in low lighting scenarios like concerts or bars.

Gsmarena, why did you guys stop commenting on the FULL RESOLUTION MODE camera photo quality in your reviews ???
There's still a silent majority of us who find that mode useful in our day to day life, especially when we have to scan important documents or snapping pictures on outdoor trips!
Disappointed:(

David 040882, 05 Feb 2024The weak camera setup is what keeps me away from buying it.... moreYou say that but look at iphones, £900 for the lowest model and they dont have a telephoto. Most android phones now main cams can do x2 zooms without really any quality loss (most x2 zoom cams are really portrait cams, not really zoom unless its 3x or more).

CamoGeko-XDA, 05 Feb 2024What a dumb decision to keep the curved display for this gen.Not really, looks more premium and easier to handle, be cool if phones released like a flat screened version of the phone though (so you could choose if you want a curved version or flat version of the phone, can only dream though).

Anonymous, 06 Feb 2024Id also prefer the 16gb ram over the puny 8gb or 12gbram in... moreYou dont have 3gb free, you're getting confused with how android phones use ram. I leave about 12-20 apps open in the background constantly, i have 8gb of ram with 8gb virtual and when i clear my apps it only clears about 50mb of space. It just leaves the data in your ram reserves so you can basically pre load those apps again if needed, once you open a new app that needs the ram it'll clear the cached data from the ram, its how android phones load apps far quicker than what apple phones do, i know from real world proof.
Oneplus are basically types of oppo phones and my find x5 is just as quick loading apps than what my mates s23u are and my other mates iphone 13 PM so doesnt suprise me it is super smooth.

Mike4, 06 Feb 2024well lucky for me i already got my POCO X6 PRo 512/12 GB f... moreOh the poco x6 pro is a fantastic phone for the price, one phone I'd look at at that price range tbh (for a new phone). Only issues would be the cameras but everything else is actually appealing.
My next phone though will be a used flagship, only way i go now (make sure its in perfect quality), probably gunna grab the honor magic5 pro for about £350.
This isnt overpriced though like i said, its a better phone than the x6 pro and is in line with other phones at that price and will get better software updates if that's your thing (not sure how xiaomi deals with poco and the updates)

and want to buy a new phone and first step for me is to choose what Android UI is really great. Also I really like OxygenOS. How is OxygenOS in battery life, bug or any UI issues or annoying ads or anything you know about it. I would be happy if you explain and guide me with your experience and knowledge. Thanks man

The OnePlus phones are only competitively priced in the US, in Europe the 12R costs 750 EUR and you can get a Galaxy S23 or if you really search even an S23+ for that price. I mean really...960 EUR (OnePlus 12) for a Chinese phone ? A joke.

In USA this phone costs $499 when you trade-in any phone (can be $5 garbage). In Europe it costs 799 Euro!!! It's absurd.
