great hw, but memeUI is bad as always. have they got no engineers left that can change it? did Xiaomi stop hiring with MIUI v4 in 2011? it's been the same interface since 12 lol, they had a chance with the whole HyperOS hype yet it's the exact same 😭

to think that Xiaomi was once upon a time a "software company"...

Marco M, 26 Feb 2024Then why who does the S24, X5 and others fail so miserably ... moreMust of been that unit having problems with white etc, my find x5 handles it perfectly well, the white parts of my cat look like how it does with my own eyes.

Gunna see what my dads s24u is like, said his old s21 battery was done because of all the 25w fast charging (seems galaxy and iphones batteries cant handle a few years on 25w chargers), the find x5 beat his s21 and iphone 13 for pictures but it wont hold a candle to the s24/iphone 15/xiaomi 14 and if it does then shame on them lol.

In the uk its the exact same price as the s24 (£850, thats directly from both xiaomi and samsungs sites and base models). Its £899 for the 12gb/512gb version. Most other places are selling the 14 for around £550-600.

The iphone 15 pro is £950 for the base model, must just be europe the 14 is so expensive?

Another overpriced garbage without SD card, audio jack.

Seems it wasn't so easy after all. Heck, the S24 even struggles with noise on the brown parts of the building. The detail clarity on the content of the balconies are so much higher in the Xiaomi photo. Look at the furniture, plants and AC. Photos aren't taken at the same time, but still, the same stuff is there in broad daylight. The 12T actually seems to be the closest second in the post with photos by this Xiaomi 14, 12T, SGS24 and Oppo Find X5.

The building being the object of the photos. . . Looking at vegetation seems a bit odd. The camera software should focus in the main object making it as good as possible.

If it was focusing on something close to the lens then yes, the background might be blurry but that is not the case in these photos. It's probably just the image processing and noise removal algorithm. I've tried this phone a few times and they seem to go heavier on the noise removal compared to the Xiaomi 13. This works fairly well indoors when there is no human subject in the scene, but maybe not so well for more intricate textures and foilage. It's not like there is just one isolated photo like this. Still most consumers don't crop in on photos so they probably won't notice

The one with the snail was taken at F1.4 aperture on the Magic 6 pro but the result is similar despite the even shallower depth of field on the Magic 6 pro. Compare the two pics with the snail.

Yes, the grass is going to look smudged in the Xiaomi 14 photo compared to the Honor Magic 6 Pro.

Reading the review and reviewing the photos itself it was mistmach, those day shots was bad - all grass, tree leaves processing is horrible! But night shots seems fine.
So I'm not sure, best would be for gsmarena to remake those day pictures and post an update.
Because sometimes happens, this could be some bad HDR issue or stacking fault. Can't be that 14 looks so bad with foliage rendition..

The actual 'optical zoom' on this is actually 2.6x rather than than 3.2x listed in the specs here. It switches from the main to the telephoto at 2.6x. It's different from the Xiaomi 14 pro in that regard.

Building details are inconclusive cause there are even surfaces, very easy to properly reproduce.
