There is no information about the UFS storage type! I wouldn't be surprised at all if it is 3.1 or perhaps even less knowing how they work at Sony

jerem06, 15 May 2024Too bad for the 12MP telephoto sensor only, a 32 or 50MP mo... moreIt sounds a bit useless. This sensor is small - 1/3.5".
If it was 50Mp, you would have opportunity to take 12.5Mp x14 photo, but you would use 1/7" part of sensor.

Without a competitive price to undercut Samsung and Apple I don't see any hope for this phone. The change in screen helps it with battery life the cameras still aren't as good as top end flagships, yet it's more expensive... Just don't see this selling.

Reading the review and looking at the photos, I have an impression that they are not from the review of the same phone. Details look very digital here and I would say are not that great. They are good, but the grass or small details look bad for me... :( The same with zoom photos, e.g. this one: https://fdn.gsmarena.com/imgroot/reviews/24/sony-xperia-1-vi/camera/gsmarena_132.jpg It looks just bad.

How can you say the subject separation is great with Bokeh on when the first image demonstrating the bokeh can't get it correct, look to the right of the girl above her shoulder, the fourth image looks impressive. The last image with the dark haired lady, her hair is getting completely cut off.
The bokeh shots aren't "very nice".
For each section on the sample pictures there is more than 1 camera sample where the highlights are blown out, and bokeh on seems to exacerbate this also.
Did Stevie Wonder check these images?

Ellio74, 15 May 2024Past Xperia 1 were conservative when compared to this one. ... moreWhat changes? Almost everything is a downgrade compared to the 1 V

The performance test is a red flag and indicates that they haven't improved thermal management at all. Combined with the mediocre cameras, downgraded screen, and slow charging, this year's phone seems like Sony's primary mission was costcutting

[deleted post]At least Europe does not need to pay 50% more than Japan, like xiaomi and vivo charge them compared to price in China.
And minions blame VAT ... 😂

Anton .el PAPI., 15 May 2024They should have but they didn't, I was reading around... more1) sharp uses same imx989 as other
2) none of them have power to demand through contract that xperia does not use imx989, because it is between Sony Semicon and clients. Sony Semicon has no say in this. Any brand can purchase imx989/Lyt900. It is open shelf cmos
3) imx888 is very close to imx989, while using much less power and takes much less space.
4) LYT900 is old tech, no dual layer pixel transistor . Also too slow to give xperia what alpha team wants
If they wanted to use again type1.0, then they would use the one inside pro-i , that is same from rx100 mark 7.

NeonHD, 15 May 2024You write that as if we don't share the same opinion. ... more5K is also a standard, 1.5K, 2K or 3K are not.

Only UFS 3.1, should be 4.0
Only 1.6m Antutu score, should be 1.9m
Only 1080p display, should be 1440p
No charger in box
No cable in box
Terrible sustained performance (yet again!)
Priced even higher than iPhone 15 Pro Max
Very slow charging
But hey, at least it's got a headphone jack, and microSD support huh..? That magically makes up for everything else 😐😐

NeonHD, 15 May 2024>𝘚𝘰𝘯𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 - 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 4𝘒 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘍𝘏𝘋+.... moreFor what? On my S23 Ultra, 1440p is barely noticeable, and that phone is a good chunk bigger. On a phone of this size, anything above FHD makes pretty much no difference

Overall great device except poor thermal performance, average video recording,Telephoto less than optimum at higher zoom.
3.5mm Jack,MicroSD,Huge battery life,Great multirdia experience are the biggest Pros of this device especially that Battery endurance.
Meanwhile me being S22 user, wondering if such battery endurance figures are possible on phones?🤣 It's atleast 3X of my S22,but im not jealous as my precious S22 keeps my phone usage low because its battery would evaporate as soon as i start doing something even moderately on it🤣🤣🤣

"Sony even provides a charging limiter, so you can avoid overcharging ad set it to 80% or 90%."
This has nothing to do with overcharging. It's to prevent the battery from staying at high voltages that degrade it faster. Please edit your review and fix the many typos present.

What Sony is doing with these phones is legendary.
Basically unique in this perfect zero BS designs that check all boxes, year after year ..and going under the radar year after year.
Shame!!
