These motorolas edge 50 models are heavily overpriced in Europe. This fusion uses same chipset as Poco x6 (the non pro) and it costs like 200€ less. I just dont understand Motorolas Eu, NA pricing. No way they are selling these with those prices. Even the Samsungs A55 and A35 models are cheaper.

justasmile, 10 Jun 2024Ever heard of USB-C drives? You just quoted me that I don't like SSD degrading my charging Port, of know I know what it is if I use them. But every time I use them, it just makes me miss the SD slot even more.

It is a bit slower yes, but so much more practical.

Also to your first comment, according to the gsm Area charging test, the A55 with 25W charges about as fast as the Moto with 68W.

Between these two the Samsung is just better and I say this as a Motorola user since 2017 and one who hates Samsung.

It has a worse display that is now 8bit instead of 10 bit and the HDR 10+ support is gone. The charging is also significantly slower despite having the same wattage. The processor is a side step at best.

The only time you may effect it a little is the moment you take it out or in.

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2024I am getting rid of my tablet. No good midrang option here... moreI have tried out the G34 extensively in a friend's store/repair-shop. I haven't bought one yet, but plan to soon. Just waiting to see how some upcoming releases stack up before finally deciding.

I personally have no issues with the G34's display. And it may only be 720p, but it is a good (at least for the price) 720p display. And I like that it is easy on my eyes (I have vision issues) and doesn't give me migraines (I have a bad migraine problem). It also ticks most other criteria boxes for me, and is the only phone in this price class that supports this many frequency bands and maintains a consistent signal that puts twice or even thrice as expensive devices to shame. Literally my only complaint about the G34 is the slow 18 Watt charging for a 5000 mAh battery, which needs two hours for a full top up.

But, you do you. Get what suits you best. You can consider the G84 (though I wouldn't advise it because of the very low PWM frequency) or an alternative from another brand.

There's also the boost charge option to further improve the charging speed. With the boost on, phone got slightly warm almost immediately when charging but at no point did the battery temp get over 35C, so I guess it's pretty safe to use (I live in cold climate so your mileage may vary).

Since I do not want to pay on flagship tablet ( dont even need) just got g34 to replace it.

I am returning it. Screen is too bad. Even videos at 720p look like 480p.
Impossible to even watch any content at decent quality.

SD card also degrades the card slot.

justasmile, 10 Jun 2024Just for it's SD card slot? So you're gonna ignor... moreOf course, having an SD slot in my phone makes me ready to pay 50 - even 100€ (depending on the phone) more money just to not have some SSD degrading my charging port over time, have access to my files if online or offline, and some sort of backup. If the phone motherboard dies for example, the date on the SD is still save, while you can't access the internal memory anymore.

This did already save me one time.

With an SD card, i'm not that relying on a PC anymore and can just have access to even the Photos from my old Keyboard phone all the time.

Slap an 1TB SD in and I just don't have the need anymore to ever delete something.

If phone memory gets full, just move stuff over to the SD, if SD gets full, just take the SD out and back everything up on PC before going to work, and have it done when coming back home, no need for a cable connection or wireless one that requires my phone to be close all the time.

After 2 Years of using my newer phone without an SD, my charging port starts to wear out and really, the only thing I really miss on this phone is my beloved SD slot.

Only their G-series of smartphones seem to be uniformly priced uniformly the world over. The Motorola G84 and the G34 (which is one of the best value devices for the price) is selling the world over for roughly the same amount after converting currencies. It varies here and there only by a bit.

Pixels and... moreTo be honest we have a Moto and we don't use the charger that came with it as the phone gets very hot and I don't think it can possibly be good for the internals and battery life. We use a Samsung which is rated alot lower and it doesn't get hot. I don't believe manufacturers when they say heat doesn't do anything to the phone. By shortening it's life they get a new purchase faster leading to more e-waste.

Motorola's offerings are priced very competitively in India, and if you prefer the 'edge' design, these are among the best value-for-money devices you can get.

It's weird that in NA/Europe Motorola is trying to position them as 'premium' devices and hoping that offering high amounts of RAM and Storage would be sufficient.

                                        Strange...
Samsung A55 with 5000 mAh battery charges in 1:03 hours with 25W charger
Motorola 50 Fusion with also 5000 mAh battery charges in 1:04 hours with 68W charger.

something is wrong here. Motorola should be much faster like 40-45 min to full charge.
