Anyway, €350 is €50 cheaper than the Redmi note 13pro 5g (launched at €400) for the same 8gb 256gb base models. In fact it is the same as the 4g version of the Redmi note 13 pro with the helio g99 ultra (launched at €350). Definitely competetive

Putting 68W charging as a con is honestly crazy. Pixels and Samsungs still charge at 25W. 68W is plenty fast enough for the average consumer. 60% in 30 minutes is very good

40 Neo followed up Edge 40, 40 Ne... moreJust because the Edge 40 Neo came out after the Edge 40 doesn't mean that it was intended to replace it.
The Edge 40 Neo was lower ranged and cheaper than the Edge 40.
Comparing models this year to last year's:
Edge 40 has been replaced by Edge 50 Pro
Edge 40 Pro has been replaced by Edge 50 Ultra
Edge 40 Neo has been replaced by Edge 50 Fusion

Quite nice, but not a real match for the Edge 40 from last year, which is faster (higher test values, and to charge; also has wireless charging) and cheaper - 8/256 for ~€300 at black Friday last year. Although the 50 Fusion has a bigger battery/better battery life, and probably longer SW updates, it won't make me change.

This is more like an Edge Neo phone specswise and less like an Edge Fusion phone. Remember, the Edge 30 Fusion came with a SD888+ (flagship), the Edge 40 Neo came with a D7030 (midrange), and now the Edge 50 Fusion has a SD7sG2 (midrange).

The main camera has improved a lot especially in low light and chromatic aberration. Other than that, it looks like a huge downgrade from the edge 30 fusion.

Good deal in India but essentially dead on arrival in the US and Europe because of one brand, Nothing. The Nothing Phone 2a. It's faster, lasts longer and has a better UW cam. Motorola went nuts with the processing here, too much sharpness and everything else. They had the perfect balance with the 50 Ultra, maybe it's the ISP?

Three things:
1) Amazed at the battery life of the Nothing phone 2a compared with the Edge 50 Fusion. Similar battery capacity and it's way better. Maybe because the Dimensity is TSMC and the 7s Gen 2 is Samsung fabricated? Even the A55 is better than the Snapdragon in the Edge 50 Fusion.
2) Both the A55 and Nothing phone 2a look like better prospects and are near in price.
3) If Nothing phone 2a had a Sony camera sensor like the Edge 50 Fusion I think it's a no contest. I think even the A55 uses a Sony sensor rather than a Samsung sensor. That's where they need to improve for the 3a.

The photos seem pretty good. The colours look more natural than other Moto models. Perhaps Motorola should stick to Sony sensors and ditch Omnivision.

I like what Motorola is doing these days but I would avoid the edge series purely because I'm not a fan of the curved displays. G series on the other hand hmm..

40 Neo followed up Edge 40, 40 Neo got a worse chip for no reason.
Edge 40 it's Dimensity 8020 is better than 7s Gen 2 in the 59 Fusion and Dimensity 7030 in 40 Neo.

50 Fusion wins: glass, SoC, batt... moreYes and no
7s Gen 2 is better than Dimensity 7030 in the 40 Neo.
But 40 Neo is a bastardized Edge 40 that came with a Dimensity 8020 that has a much better chip than both 40 Neo and 50 Fusion have.
Motorola is doing a Samsung move here (A52s having better chip than A53 and even A54 in some regards)

Not sure about the G because that series generally has flat displays which I prefer to be honest.

This one is 344 euro in my country, Galaxy A55 starts at 303 euro now.
Until now I would never advice Samsung above Motorola unless updates are a priority, Motorola had aside from that fact always the better value for money.
But this time Samsung A55 is the better phone, looks aside (moto wins) the rest of the A55, including it's chip (shocking huh) is better than Moto.
So unless the 50 Fusion drops below 250 euro, which it will not here (that would cannibalise the sales of the G series), I would rather advice Samsung this time.
