Nokia 5320 review: Teensmart

08 August 2008
XpressMusic is back on Symbian turf. Last time we checked the musical talent was playing second fiddle to smartphone skill but maybe it's time for the tables to turn. Nokia have ditched the swivel and are playing it rather low key on the 5320 exterior. Fair enough, less express in XpressMusic but no complaints elsewhere: FP2, HSDPA. Well geared up in terms of connectivity and running on the latest Symbian...

Marwan, 09 Aug 2008A very unique feature of the 5320 XM has gone missing in th... moreI don't think I will ever use that feature if I own the phone.

Anyway, this phone is worse than I thought, but I'm still getting it as a present for my younger brother.

A very unique feature of the 5320 XM has gone missing in this review, the 5320 XM is capable of playing any track/s stored on the phone, by simply saying the name of the song or artist, a feature that combines voice recognition with Music Files ID tags.

after pressing and holding the 'my own key' button, you will be alerted to say the name of your desired artist/song and it will automatically play it for you.

      Neat, huh?

theres a trick to install n-gage onto FP2 phones, you gotta get rid of that n-gage preview and on the forums alittle modded version with all the required files cam be found, after that it works like normal you can buy games download there directly and play as normal.....kinda disappointed with the phone though....pretty below average for a music phone and nowadays whats the price gonna be around the same as 5700....i'd go for that and whos cares about FP2 if the screen is tiny and bad gallery and anyway i went to the mobile market yesterday.....if your buying a 5700 all you gotta do is save up alittle more and you can get the N81 8GB!! i was supprised at the price drops man even N78 is almost the same as N81 8GB.....i almost bought the N78....its way too tempting.....but still held on for the N96......man august is gonna be a cool month for phones.....later guys keep chillin!!!

Ha! Well my 5700 is still way better. I can live without HSDPA and FP2 but 5700 still has goodies like stereo speakers, cool twist form factor and larger screen. But to be fair, 5320 scores good with a standard 3.5mm audio socket, latest Symbian platform and N-gage support.
I hope Nokia can come up with the ultimate XpressMusic monster (and I mean monster of a music-phone).

I'm dreaming of a future XpressMusic phone that has features like:
            >3.5mm audio port
            >WLAN
            >bar form factor (i won't prefer moving parts)
            >dedicated music keys
            >1000+ mAh battery
            >Symbian FP2 platform
            >at least 8GB of internal memory and expandable with microSD
            >at least 2.4 inches screen dimension
            >5 megapixel auto-focus camera
            >Video recording and playback in VGA resolution
            >Bluetooth with A2DP support
            >FM and AM radio
            >stereo loudspeakers with mono output option
            >8-band graphic equalizer

i guess it's fair enough when sometimes people (should I call Nokia fans?) bashing SE with their small display, no WiFi, bla3x.... GSMArena trying to be fair with us that this Nokia call it XpressMusic that should concentrate with Audio Quality & other support stuffs still can not produce the best Audio.... what a shame.....

i dont get why you would put no wi-fi as a main disadvantage for this phone when the majority of phones in this candy bar form dont usually have wi-fi anyways. it just seems unfair knowing most of these phones are being judged because they lack this function
