~~The aluminum frame has gone from glossy to brushed ~~
this is funny statement .When i touch and rub it many many times at samsung store it feel more like
plasticky than the real aluminium material .

Actually quite enjoying my S24 Ultra with the Snapdragon Gen 3. Tons of upgrades across the board from the S23 Ultra making it a stellar upgrade. Finally got the flat screen back that I've been waiting for and the Gorilla Armor glass with 75% less reflections is unreal in real world use. I've been hearing the Gen 4 chips are going to be pricey and not very efficient. Guess we'll see if they upgrade enough to validate an upgrade or wait for the S26 Ultra that may come with a solid state battery.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2024It's ironical how much hotter the 8 Gen 3 is than 8 Ge... moreWith Qualcomm about to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 featuring an in-house Oryon CPU in a few months from now, I see almost no reason to go for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphones. The in-house Oryon CPU has shown its worth on Snapdragon X Plus/Elite for Windows ARM, so I'm curious how it will fair on a smartphone SoC.

KMnO4, 22 Jul 2024So far the only smartphone with 8gen3 that does not heat up... moreIt's ironical how much hotter the 8 Gen 3 is than 8 Gen 2.
Gen 3 throttles in Red Magic, which has a fan more in the CPU test than S23 with Gen 2.
Says enough, there were so many excellently cooled phones with 8 Gen 2, but after seeing Rog 8 and S24U at start of this year, I knew this chip is going to cause unnecessary problems.
Maybe Samsung going Mediatek on their tablets is foreshadowing too, if even a tablet or a phone with a fan can not handle this thing, what can?

KMnO4, 22 Jul 2024So far the only smartphone with 8gen3 that does not heat up... moreAfter seeing the temps in Edge 50 Ultra with 8s Gen 3, I already knew even that chip doesn't solve the issues 8 Gen 3 has.
Somehow 8 Gen 2 was a better chip in anything but flip phones (but that is more because of the design)
And of Gen 2 was a issue for flip phones, Gen 3 is just a bad idea to put in such phone.

The only flip phone I remember not having heavy throttle issues was Moto Raze 40 (not the Ultra).
I expect the regular Razr 50 share same fate as Razr 40.
Flip phones don't have enough room to have high end chips, just put in a solid mid ranger and call it a day, at least the performance will be consistent.
Because seemingly even a vapor chamber doesn't change anything at all.

It looks like Samsung is reducing the potential of the 8 Gen 3 in their smartphones.
Every Samsung phone with an 8 Gen 3 scores less in AnTuTu than the standard. Why?

Kev, 21 Jul 2024One UI isn't the problem, its the fact that the Flip 6... moreIts not bad to throttle, the power consumption under high load would be ridiculous. The Red Magic 9S Pro with 6500 mah takes about 18% of battery in the wild life extreme stress test.

This device's design is unappealing. Why should a foldable device merely resemble a regular phone bent in half? Just look at the Razr series with its nice design. I appreciate the fact that Z Flip6 is quite compact, but it should definitely be thinner (not more that 10mm folded). Otherwise, it has no size benefits compared to regular phone.

The Z Flip6 photos are a bit too bright for my liking, but far less oversharpened than the Z Flip5 photos. That is a solid improvement to me.
But overall, I don't mind Samsung trading the SoC from Snapdragon's 8 Gen 3 to 8s Gen 3, especially when this phone only maxed out at 4K/60fps for video recording. Also, it's still a real bummer for not having DeX support despite the vapour chamber cooler. Motorola can still give Wireless Smart Connect (formerly Ready For) support on the Razr 50 Ultra despite not having a USB-C 3.2 port.
