50 pro has ov50e , the other Sony Lyt700.

AnonD-1167022, 29 Aug 2024500€ for the 12/512 version of the Edge 50 Neo with 5y of O... moreI too think it's a banger.
Kind of compact phone with great energy efficiency, stunning screen, fast charging, wireless charging, capable cameras and a very good design, I even consider it to replace my Galaxy S24, which I'm disappointed about (camera, battery life, charging speed).
The edge 50 neo is very balanced in my opinion.

Finally the camera seems to be up to standards unlike 30 neo

Why has the Moto Edge 50 Fusion been suddenly reduced in price.?Does the handset get hot? What's wrong with it?Does anybody know?

Main cam is around the same size, telephoto uses literally the same sensor and only better sensor is ultrawide than this one from rear cameras? Also samsung still uses 8 bit panels even on ultra models.

Gotta wonder if the LTPO display is worth €499. If this was €350-€375 it would have been great.Sadly Moto missed the mark by a lot.
Very conflicting, I like display and small-ish form factor, sadly it comes with a small battery.
Cameras are not that great, not very sharp, details are meh, low-light is just bad.
I don't mind the plastic frame and back, for the money the frame should have been metal. The Mil standard means nothing.
It's great that the base storage is 256GB, but the chipset is just too weak for €499.
A Galaxy S23 is €500 currently - better in almost all aspects. For similar money - Pixel 8/8a, the Nothing phones, Oneplus 12R, Moto Edge 50 Pro (hah), Thinkphone, etc...

                        For Neo
One of the most important points of this device is that it will receive 5 version updates and 5 years of security updates.

ThunderCrackR, 29 Aug 2024Motorola's update policy is a joke for 2024 standards. The neo is supposedly getting 5 OS updates, at least according to their website

500€ for the Edge 50 Neo is quite expensive. Except for the display we are looking at a midrange Smartphone (dimensity 7300 soc, ufs 2.2, midrange camera setup...). The neo is still too big to be considered a compact device. 154mm in length. There are several 6.67" phones with a length of 158mm like the nothing phone 2a which offers more bang for the money. And if you want a compact device the S23 is the better and cheaper option (480€ in Germany for 128GB) if 128gb is okay for you. The 256gb S23 is about 570€.
Honestly I would pay 570€ and buy the more compact S23 instead of paying 500 for 50 neo. With the s23 you get a compact flagship smartphone with high end soc, display, storage and camera setup.

Motorola's update policy is a joke for 2024 standards.

Looks pretty great, the only two complaints I really have with it based on the current info are the battery size and plastic bezeles. For the former we'll see how much of a problem it is or isn't when full reviews start coming out, for the latter it's mostly just a preference.

The Edge 50 Neo sort of feels like a 2021 upper midranger with a much better camera setup and an LTPO screen

To the people who have said kind of phone but want to replace it due to a degrading battery, the Edge 50 Neo might be a really attractive option

Shame about the Edge 50 Neo battery capacity. Should have been bigger and was intentionally neutered to not compete with the Edge 50 Fusion. Nothing phone 2a is still better.
