Any idea when will Pixel 9 Pro launch in India ?
9, 9 Pro XL and 9 Pro Fold all three are already on sale but 9 Pro is yet to launch / be available for purchase.
First I read somewhere of 16th September but no luck so far.
Tried asking official retail partners like Croma & Reliance Digital but they don't have any answer.
Tried asking on Google Support Page but there are only sample answers type guidelines so please let me know.
Thanks a lot.

They cannot just skip the planned SOC generation, canceling current approved phone design and production process for the year 'x' planned phone that has went thru all the needed certifications in world, just because Samsung has released something better for this year.... :D

Like it or not it is a process that they need to go thru to get to the point where they want to be. They cannot release their current products on Snapdragon or Exynos SOC just to be 'good' .. Well... they can BUT then they will never ever will learn and polish its own 'Tensor' chip as they will not have real world usage/feedback and the learning curve for the progress.

'Tensor' is not a bad chip that they need to scrap alltogether, they just need to smooth it out finding the best solutions for the SOC design, and it is what they are doing year to year as it gets better if you compare G1-G4.

I think sir you really dont know how making an quality electronic device, work in world. :D Thinking that you can make a decision like that just like flipping a light switch.

Nameless, 22 Sep 2024Picture samples are trash. Especially pictures number 38-40... moreYes, as I wrote in a previous comment, some 50 megapixel 10x and 30x sample images are out of focus, too.
I tested in a store that 15x + Night Sight can give you slightly more detail in the jpgs in the 50 megapixel mode in comparison with the 12 megapixel mode and much more detail in the 50 megapixel mode when you compare the dng files with the 12 megapixel mode. The reason is that Google always uses analog binning in the 12 megapixel mode at 10x-30x (in contrast to Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro). You only get 2.5 megapixel dng files at 10x (unless you choose the 50 megapixel mode), whereas the 7 Pro gives you 11.4 megapixel dng files at 10x, if the light conditions are decent.
10x-30x live photo video frames are worse, too due to analog binning.

If nobody cared then why would most flagship phones use very expensive high-end Qualcomm chipset, genius?

volume rocker above the power button Is something I can't get used to. Just can't reach it (left hand use) and constantly hitting volume button when trying to shut down screen. speaker lacks bass, pretty thin sound for calls and just also media.

Up to the P7 their prices were also significantly lower than today

alski10, 24 Sep 2024I had a Pixel 7 Pro as daily driver for about 5 months and ... moreS23 is 2023 lineup, pixel 7 is 2022 lineup. Thats why you could see the difference.

You should compare p7 pro to s22Ultra, then it would be adequate. But if you want to compare to s23u then p8 pro.

                                Also sidenote:
                                S22U- Exynos 2200
                                S23U- Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
                                S24U- Exynos 2400

Yes snapdragon 8 is really really good are refined SOC, thats why you can 'feel' it immediately, also it has the best battery management, even compared 'in house' with s22u & s23u....

E2200 Was a battery drainer and chip that warmed up the phone pretty good, thats why samsung made a decision to skip it one year, went for the safe option- snapdragon but in this years lineup with E2400 they fixed all the previous problems and its a great chip.

Problem with not in house chips are the support, you cannot offer support longer than 2..3 years thats why everyone wants to make their own now.

It's a shame GSM arena posted these images. I used to trust their reviews, but concerning the Pixel 9 pro, I don't understand why they are so critical. Even if it's true that the 9P doesn't bring much to the table, compared with the 8P, image quality remains roughly the same. And the 8P review was very positive.

The Samsung definitely feels faster as soon you start doing things that require a little bit of processing such as photo editing, video compression, opening heavy apps, playing games...

Samsung and TSMC manufacture chips for their clients, and Qualcomm is one of their clients. Qualcomm did the design.

Google is also a client of Samsung this year with their Tensor G4.

Compare it to the real flagships like Samsungs S23 and S24 series or Apples 15 or 16 series and you will see how NOT flagship Pixel 9 really is.

I respect your opinion, but I think this is a mid range phone.
