Not really fair to compare google tensor that now it's only in 5th year development!!!
Against snapdragon 8 that first version came out in 2013, so now 'gen 3' is a product of 10+ years chipset refining or Samsungs latest 2400 Exynos also is about 10 year in house soc product development and refinement.
Also everyone has forgot how buggy and excessive heat issue problems with the massive thermal throttling issues these two had in first 2-4 years when they came out in the latest flagships! ;)
Tensor chipset itself is just too in early stages to compete in raw performance with these big boys who has 10+ years under development belt.
Basically this is chipsets 1st generation lineup where it needed to be stable enough to stand on its legs without any help!
Now with next years pixel 10 lineup we should see tensors '2nd generation' model lineup it is also on the new node so we should see real improvements in thermals, power draw and also the raw speed.
Of course it is impossible to get it 100% right in the very first model, but i predict with p11 or p12 lineup, Tensor in the raw speed tests will be up there in 'top5' with the big boys making us very happy. :)

Eno2, 23 Sep 2024Worst phone of the year at an exorbitant price, easy to skip!Well, this crown 1000% goes to apple. Only thing that differs 15pro vs 16pro is the camera button(that nokia had back in 2007) and internal chipset number goes up by one.. These only 2 main laughable differences for 1.4k euro 256gb device :D LOL!!!
Pixel wise there at least is better battery, better screen, few camera setup changes.... Sure not much against previous year, but again if you have p8pro or even p7pro then you probably shouldn't update yet and just wait for p10 pro and then weigh all prons and cons... ;)

Sony, Samsung, Apple - companies that can get hi res to the table. Great to see that sony is in.
Not just any company can bring that kind of magic, not to mention in raw.
About this much is enough to get what is my next phone for my camera replacement, tho I wish there would be some competition, some specs and features are just one of the kind.

Picture samples are trash. Especially pictures number 38-40 (50MP 2X samples) are with defocus render. Focus is on the bushes. How can you post them..?

Since this phone throttles almost immediately after put on peak load, long 4K recording would be pretty limited. Peopls buy Pixels for the cameras, right?

S2... moreYeah, their rating is all over the place and i mentioned this on a lot of reviews. If you noticed, they all also make have tendency to be pretty inconsistent with their conclusions. I've seen phones being critiqued really harshly for an issue then another phone from the same class has the same issue, but it gets brushed over quickly.
Just look at that abysmal throttle issue, yet they make it look not so bad. If this was a Xiaomi with that severe throttle, it would be all over the review.

S24+ got 4.3
S24 Ultra got 4.6
Let that sink in... people on GSM Arena have absolutely no idea what they are doing lol
Compare them side by side and even last years Samsungs will blow Pixel 9 out the water. And they are trying to tell us that this phone is almost as good as S24 Ultra and better than S24+ lol Come on man lol

Google should stick to their search engine. Leave it to the big boys like Apple and Samsung. Their phones are expensive paperweights at best.

Oh man this is just not a 1000usd phone.
All of that lack of performance to still get flagship-like battery life.
