The phone excels in every damn category. Other than the 60Hz nonsense, this is a champion phone. Device of the year I think.

There's no way Apple's using that awful of a sensor for their UW camera. With a measly pixel size of 0.7 micron pixels and zero binning, it's a miracle it's able to conjure up usable images at night at all. I don't even want to know how small the sensor is.

Great cameras and photo/video quality, very good battery life, amazing performance, nice compact size. Only con 60hz refresh rate 👀. Almost flawless. How is the score only 4.0 lol. Anyways great device for the price if you don't care about 60hz.

In Europe the base iPhone 16 costs the outrageous price of ~ 1000 euro. You really must be a diehard Apple fan to swallow these prices.

GPU still benchmarks lower than QC or Dimensity but real world games will play better on it thanks to Apple only making 4 phones per year (therefore optimization is easy for developers) instead of +100 that other brands do. Dame Tech on youtube does a lot of real world gameplay comparisons.
It is 60hz but nobody that wants to use their phone extensively would buy the cheapest in the line up anyway, it's still a scam at this price point but reality is that most people don't care, and this time base models are not horrible deal either, better CPU performance than S24 Ultra and better battery but $500 cheaper MSRP is not too shabby for phones that are released in the same year.

Main gripes with people on this website with iPhones is mainly 60hz and the OS. To be fair, I'm fine with iOS or Android. Both do what I need to do. Android just allows you to tinker with your phone and truly customize it. As for 60hz, this can be easily fixed by buying a older gen Pro iPhone (15, 14 Pro).
I will say this: should you buy the 16? 50/50. You can get a 15P or 15PM for just about the same amount of money. If you NEED Visual Intelligence (which is just Google Lens tbf), just go for it. I don't think the camera control button or the new A18 chip will be a huge reason to upgrade. That being said, If you have a 13-15, keep your device until 17 series rolls around.
