This phone is a victim of the general poor depreciation of Android phones. The S24 Ultra would be a better investment than this, and it's not much more expensive.

213 grams you've got to be joking lmao Samsung what are you smoking!?

Eric20, 12 Oct 2024The photos out of the ultra wide sensor looks like trash. 😒True. Distorted and crooked buildings because of the fish eye effect and out of focus sometimes because there's no autofocus. Wonder how is this acceptable in a "flagship killer"...

With s20 trade in + students discount I can get this phone for around 270 eur with Buds 3 included.
Is this phone fine for this price?

Aierlan, 12 Oct 2024The price is not close to the official price of the S24+ th... morethat's what i was gonna say lol, official price is all that matters because that's the base price that they want to sell to most people and only savvy people are going to look for deals. i don't like waiting for what the future MIGHT hold, i want something that im certain of right now. they might promise lower prices in the future and only cut 20 bucks off when the s25 series comes, yk? no better way to judge something than what it has RIGHT NOW.

And I like to consider only the american and european pricing mostly, not where I live cus some third party retailers get some amazing deals on phones. For example, the S24 Ultra is 1000 usd for the 256 GB model in these stores whereas officially it costs 2k usd, ofc there's no warranty on those retailers but i mean a thousand bucks is a lotta money. So yeah 90% of people where I live get stuff from these retailers or buy stuff from other countries and then import. So yeah there's that lol

And i don't like talking about price drops cus there was a reason for that, the product is older and there are other competitors so it's not a "oh good they dropped the price" type of reaction from me but a "finally, they dropped the price, only now does it have decent value" kind of reaction.

                      Another fail edition,
                      Pathetic battery,

                      No audio jack

It is a solid offer from Samsung, but how much value it offers depends on where you live.
In Denmark for example, you dont get discount on higher end Xiaomi phones when you make a contract with the operators.
But with Oneplus, Samsung and Motorola you do.
Samsung even offers a buy back program if you buy the Galaxy S24 FE.

Idk, i don't understand the business logic behind that phone. Feature -wise it is between s24 and A55, but kind has weaknesses of both and price of the top one....

Managed to snag one for € 570. It's the 8/128 GB variant. Feels really nice to hold, almost identical to the A55, sans key island. Screen is more vibrant than A55 and oleophobic coating is better than that on S23. Really nice phone; flagship killer if price drops below € 550.

Its about 60% too expensive for what it is.
                              No charger in box
                              No sd card

                              No Infrared
                              Too big
                              Too heavy
                              Virtual sensor
                              Bloatware
                              ...

What it has going for it is 7 year support wich is good but...if you take a bit of time to learn about custom roms becomes meaningless. There are plenty of phones 7years old still being supported with custom roms, samsungs too among them

It launched at a way more expensive price. I think they should judge all phones on launch prices as it's impossible to monitor all the current deals in different markets. Older models are always going to be way better in nearly all markets except China

jiyen235, 12 Oct 2024I mean the same can be said for anything. "The Porsche... moreYeah, but the price changes quite quickly and is different in different markets. I'm in China where the prices of Chinese brands are lower than foreign brands but this year but in Europe, where I'm from there is not that big a difference between prices of Chinese and non Chinese brands (basically Samsung). However in Europe there tends to be more dramatic drops in prices after half a year or so, so older models look much more attractive in terms of pricing than newly launched ones. Yes, price is part of the product but price changes very quickly in certain markets. In China I'm now waiting for the newly launched flagships this month and next to buy a new phone as last year's flagships have generally had hardly any price cut and there is not a significant gap in price so it makes little sense to get last year's model when the new model is launched (at least at the time of launch of the new model) . If I was in Europe I'd rarely go for a newly launched phone as last year's model would usually be way cheaper. So, I totally agree that price is tied to a product but price is not static and price also varies hugely by market. A lot of people in comments here only base judgement based on price in their own living area but they also should be aware that the situation could be completely different for somebody in a different country or region. For me, I'm only majorly concerned with Chinese pricing but I know that is not relevant to most people on this forum so I will also consider pricing in different countries/regions when commenting

Aierlan, 12 Oct 2024No such thing as a bad phone, but a phone can be bad for th... moreI mean the same can be said for anything. "The Porsche 918 Spyder is an exceptional car, it's just that the pricing is kind of poor."

The price determines the value the consumer gets as that's the cost they pay for to get the product. So, in business, price is tied with the product as well. Doesn't matter if you make the best product of all time if you price it so that there's no effective demand (people who want to and CAN buy it).

Whatever the case, the Samsung fan editions are truly for the fans, who are okay with getting scammed.

I find it weird that GSMArena by default only had the 14T in the battery test result here but didn't include the 14T Pro, the actual competitor of the S24 FE, which actually performs better than the S24 FE in terms of battery (apart from video, which could be a result of the higher res screen on the Xiaomi) AND charges faster to 100% than the Samsung does 50%.

I, along with a lot of others, thought the Xiaomi 14T Pro was overpriced for what it offered but if you look at this phone, that phone seems like it is a value phone of the year contender. Better cameras, better chip, better battery life, better charging and better thermal performance.

I don't understand how this gets a 4.2 rating when gsmarena themselves agree that the price being close to the S24+ is weird.
