Why would brand raise base iso value if this decreases quality?

Explain why all imx890 phones have iso 100.
Explain why all imx989/lyt900 shoot same iso.

Raising base iso value does not exist. By the way, superwide of this phone uses crop as well, just like the periscope.

2x crop of quadbayer is lower quality compared to even bayer mode from qb sensor.

2x crop of that 27mp mi 10 series is better than 12.5mp 2x than mi 14 ultra.

Darth Caesium, 13 hours agoLowering the telephoto from 85mm to 70mm is definitely not ... moreYeah. Another thing: that commenter("op}") is wrong about base iso: nubia z70 ultra and honor magic v3 main cameras both imx906, but z70u starting at 160 and magic v3 at 50. z60 ultra ultrawide and vivo v30 main cam both ov50e, but z60 ultra starting at 100 and v30 at 50.

Kinda silly how this gets a 4.0 rating while some mid rangers get 4.2 to 4.3.

I get it's a bit of a disappointment but still deserves at least 4.3 due to its hardware

i ve been using the red magic kin and this year wanted to try the camera phones, but this is such a massive disappointment. probably the worst of the series. never before we have seen so many failures and backsteps

Darth Caesium, 13 hours agoLowering the telephoto from 85mm to 70mm is definitely not ... moreMy idea is that a 70 mm telephoto camera may provide almost seamless, stepless zooming from the main camera. Until 2x, the crop from the main good sensor can output from acceptable quality from a 1/1.3 "sensor to fine and crispy from 1". If you do zoom further, you will get picture from the tele camera without a huge quality gap.

In my opinion, a trio of focal lengths 18 mm-35mm-70mm should be standard at least for Nubia (until zoomable lenses for smartphones are finally invented).
Wish to see 1/1.56-1"-1/1.56 sensors, even with a $200 increase in price =)

They should have worked on the front camera as well. All the sensors of 50MP. 4K60 support for all the sensors. Proper stabilization for the sensors with increasing stabilization directly proportional to the focal lengths. The rumoured 7" screen should have been here with a 21:10 aspect ratio and a 1440p resolution with an anti-reflective panel, >3000nits HBM. They could have gone for 140w charging with 6500mAh.

What happened to the castle clock? That was my reference to compare the zoom of the phones?

                      > Sure, we've come to accept punch holes as a necessary evil
No, I don't accept punch holes.

I agree with everything else you've said though. Making the ultrawide 12mm and downgrading the sensor to an absolutely tiny one was an absolutely unacceptable move. What they really should've done was this:

The difference in quality is truly shocking between UW Z60U and this especially at night (i had to open a separate tab to compare) no wonder they didn't include head to head comparison with Z60U lol Also that main camera bump is too large and is VA really worth it? It would be 100x better without VA but with Z60U UW cam :/

If sensor has base iso of 24, phone maker is not gonna " set " 100 as base.

You are not going to see 2 phones with for example using ov50a using 100 and 200 as base.
