Anonymous, 29 Nov 2024Did the A15 not have 4 OS updates?4 or 6 OS updates really dont matter bcos users of the A16 and A16 5G would be lucky if their phones still usable after 2 OS updates. Usable as in not lagging and stuttering when doing something as simple as browsing.

MakeMotoBetterAgain, 30 Nov 2024this phone will lose cellular service in a couple years as ... moreWhile 4G technology is being gradually replaced by 5G, it's not expected to be completely shut down anytime soon. Here's why:
Gradual Transition: The shift from 4G to 5G is happening gradually. Carriers are expanding their 5G networks, but 4G will remain operational for many years to come.
IoT and Other Applications: 4G is well-suited for many Internet of Things (IoT) devices and other applications that don't require the high speeds and low latency of 5G.
* Cost-Effectiveness: 4G networks are more cost-effective to maintain than 5G networks, especially in areas with lower population density.
Estimated Timeline:
* Developed Countries: While some carriers might start phasing out 4G in certain areas by the late 2020s or early 2030s, it's unlikely to be completely shut down before 2035.
Developing Countries: 4G will likely remain the dominant technology for many years, especially in rural and less developed areas.
In conclusion, while 4G is gradually being replaced by 5G, it will continue to be a valuable technology for many years to come.

My device have same chipset, ram size do really affect performance. Maybe 8gb version might perform better.

200g! Entry-level smartphones are getting heavier, so in the future "slim an lightweight" is a reason for manufacturers to ask more money for their flagships.

Jesus, even the low end stuff is losing the 3.5mm jack forever.
Also, battery life is deceiving. In modern smartphones we are usually browsing most of the time, and the score there was very average.

Er…you may want to look at the spec listings on the first page guys, I highly doubt this thing has two 50mp macro cameras 🤷

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2024I hate virtual proximity sensors, they are terrible. But... moreThe S24 FE lacks one but the A05 has one. Not sure what the logic is there.

It does cost more to do it with a headphone jack, but indeed it is possible like sony and asus proved.
Even LG phones had IP rating at some point.

Hikari, 29 Nov 2024"There is one feature that has been retired since the ... moreIt's amusing to sometimes see this website reviewers forget they have a database of reviews which include the ancient Galaxy S5 Active, Galaxy XCover6 Pro (ip68+removable battery), and other sealed-battery phone with headphone jacks/sdcard slots like the LG Velvet etc.
Along with thicc phones like the rugged chinese ones that have all the bling bling while still having ip ratings.

How to fix this device:
•Give it a real proximity sensor
•Make the base version have 6GB of RAM, or even just make the base version also have 8GB RAM like the higher storage variant
Even better, don't make separate 4G and 5G variants, just go all in on 5G. It really doesn't cost that much more, Samsung's just being greedy here.
EDIT: Also add a gyroscope sensor.

"There is one feature that has been retired since the A15, and that is the 3.5mm audio jack. Maybe this was the cost of ingress protection" then how can the sony xperia and asus phones have an IP rating with a headphone jack?

I hate virtual proximity sensors, they are terrible.
But
Is it fair to only mention it as a con on samsung phones, while there are other brands also using it?
Just make it a con for all brands using it then.
