Hello! you really need to change the test for video quality.
You have to show your viewers the video quality and STABILITY on all cameras.
You say its good, but on youtube on other reviewers, the OIS in low light is very poor!
Cheers!

xcv, 17 Jan 2025Over 1100 € in Germany 😮. Good luck selling to anybody. ... moreyou just made those up.......its litrally most stable flagship this year and about the price you know whats funny? its 1100 USD(1000 EUR) in saudi while giving away a 250 USD honor watch......while having charger and 5850 mAh battery........EU import tax and regulations are bad........go blame your rulers
and what do you mean bad telephoto? it loses only to x200 pro? that has a camera bump bigger than mount everest?

They really fumbled the zoom sensor processing and downright lied about it being 3x. Hopefully the RSR makes up for this.

Are there any differences regarding the 4G/5G bands been the Chinese and the European version?
People from EU may be interested in buying the Chinese version for the better battery.

Honestly I'm disappointed by the decision to downgrade the battery for the European market, especially considering the very high price of this device.

Lister, 17 Jan 20254.4 score with a battery that bad? Nah. same as s24 ultra is bad?

I bought Honor Magic 6 Pro for my wife in a previous year for 1100 euro.
It's successor Magic 7 Pro has a reduced battery capacity and the same main camera sensor with HUGE problems in color rendering/color temperature and crazy AI photo "enhancements".
Rumors said it will have color sensor, I see a "color spectrum sensor" in the specs, but it is not mentioned in the review. So I suppose there is not changes. Honor Magic 6 Pro do 50% photos with a washed colors or a far missed colors/color temperature. AI works poorly, has no off button (AI scene detection is off since second day of purchase, of course), so you may see deep darkened hard wrinkles on faces, even children with pretty young faces may looks like a zombies. You cannot see all these problems in this review, because reviews on this site has strict set of simple scenes.
Also the main camera has an awkward focal length 24mm with massive barrel distortion.
I see no fixes, only a battery downgrade. Shame.

Over 1100 € in Germany 😮. Good luck selling to anybody.

                Some negatives:
                - overheating under heavy use and you get pop up warning to pause using it!
                - underwhelming telephoto camera
                - no UWB nor BT LE
                - EU version has 600 mAh smaller battery

Great main cam, kinda poor UW cam and a good zoom cam. I don't understand why Honor fumbles the bag with such a world class sensor, last year they cropped the whole sensor and improperly processed the photos and now they just crop from the full 200 mp sensor and improperly process. The photos look like they're from a 1/2" sensor and not a gigantic (for a phone) 1/1.4". 2x crops of the telephoto look bad as well, imo worse than even Vivo's 10x shots. Disappointing. Everything looks so filled with artefacts at night, the main cam shots look like they have AI generated detail, the UW cam fumbles it and the telephoto cam has awful color noise or whatever thing at 2x crop alongside high noise in the 3x shots.

Selfies are class leading, speakers are genuinely great (for normal flagships at least) and the battery charges fast as well. Even if the cameras weren't disappointing, the battery life runtime is, why the cut down battery for the EU markets? And GSMArena's tool not clarifying this makes it seem like this phone has worse battery life despite a larger battery lmao

Dunno how to feel about this one man, the price is too high and too many corners were cut/it's just not as polished. I always feel conflicted with Honor phones, I like em but always think they're a cut below the rest. For an average person the acceptable rear camera setup would be just fine and pairing that with the great selfie cam, speakers and charging speed i can see the appeal for a normal person. But do normal people get phones outside of Samsung and Apple? I think only tech enthusiasts/people knowledgeable about tech do.

PureOS, 17 Jan 2025This one has best sustained performance of all SD 8 Elite p... morewhen the avg score this phone gets is equal to the minimum score of the IQOO 13, i think this phone would obviously get higher stability ;)

For reference (from gsmarena reviews) :

                    IQOO 13 :

                    Max : 394K
                    AVG : 345K
                    Min : 327K
                    Stability : 83%

                    Magic7 Pro :

                    Max : 356K
                    Avg : 328K
                    Min : 296K
                    Stability : 86%

                    IQOO 12 :

                    Max : 382K
                    Avg : 304K
                    Min : 280K
                    Stability : 74%

                    X200 Pro :

                    Max : 482K
                    Avg : 321K
                    Min : 275K
                    Stability : 58%

So you can see that phones either push for higher numbers/performance (Vivo phones) OR higher stability (Honor). So relax, in the real world use cases, the phones are going to just perform the same. Geekerwan's torture tests (5g data 300 nit screen genshin at 30 degrees) didn't affect the Find X8 Pro much which is close in power to these phones. So in the end it won't really affect you much.

Besides, these synthetic benchmarks don't show the truth anyways, for example the Oneplus 13 performs worse than the OP 12 in this test. Goes to show how important app optimization/recognition is. What's most important is real life gaming benchmarks (Geekerwan and Xiaobai on YT do that) and video rendering test. The latter is the heaviest load that i think most normal people do, just editing videos and rendering em. And the speed also changes from app to app sometimes, so, really, it's quite tough to have a standardized phone speed comparison outside of games. For example, Adobe apps favor Apple heavily.

Gsmarena, you haven't posted 12x sample images because a 200 megapixel sensor theoretically extends the zoom reach by 4x. But the Honor Magic6 Pro apparently always used at least 4-1 binning, so if that's the case here as well, then you basically don't have a 200 megapixel sensor but a 50 megapixel sensor.

                        THIS IS EPIC
the EU version is not good with 5270 mAh and no charger but if you buy the Chinese version this is the best phone of the year
that CPU and GPU stability and That battery life management with only 5270 mAh......wowowowowowoowwoo .........im sold man
best speakers and Tof sensor too..........only advantage other phones(only vivo)might have are slightly better telephoto but at least not the half of the phone is camera bump

It's a shame that you haven't tested the AI zoom function (30x and more). It would be nice if you could test this feature later.

[deleted post]At least in the UK with discounts applied it costs £800 and comes with the 100W charger, what’s considered good value by your standards? It’s cheaper than all its flagship peers on release.

WOW! 9h gaming with that battery capacity?! Insane efficiency and SW optimization. Just maybe S25 won't have issues too...

This one has best sustained performance of all SD 8 Elite phones. Still, not worth to upgrade from previous generation.

Regarding ultrawide 50 mp mode ov50d doesn't support above 4096*3072 and unbinned mode while ov50m does. Phone also doesn't support bluetooth le audio when it should and older phones including x14u do, which notebookcheck discovered.
