MarOMG, 21 Jan 2025I have had Redmi and POCO phones since 2017. Note 5a, Note ... moreTrue.. they used to make good solid phones for a fair price. Now you get an old Android version, same ancient 8 mpix ultra wide, useless 2 mpix macro, 1080p selfie video, and ads in Xiaomi's own apps. All that combined with worse batterylife, and a much much higher price than before

I have had Redmi and POCO phones since 2017. Note 5a, Note 7, Note 8 Pro and POCO X3 Pro. All of them becouse of great battery life compared to others. Last few years Xiaomi is going downhill in that department. Every other phone has better battery life than any Redmi/POCO device. And every new generation is even worse than the old one! Yes, they have hyper/turbo/mega fast charging, but I just don't care. Make it last for a whole day and I can charge it overnight on 10W, rather than running to the first outlet to juice it up at 17:00.
And that low blow with an old Android and HyperOS versions? Slower storage? Better SoC and camera on paper, but not in real life? Redmi was known for giving more for less money, but this one is giving the same or less for more bucks. Shamefull, at least.
So, what is to like about this phone? Frankly, nothing.
I'm done with Xiaomi/Redmi/POCO, sadly I've sold my soul to Samsung (A35) for now. Xiaomi, Make Your Phones Great Again!

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2025Depends if Gsmarena wants to make Xiaomi angry at them Tha... moreit's valid for all vendors and all tech sites tbh.. For us all that remains is to read/watch carefully test results, judge by ourselves and ignore any other words/statements in the articles. Incl spec sheets and marketing pdfs of course.

DP1963, 21 Jan 2025Whatever its pros, too many cons for a 4/5 star review, surely? Depends if Gsmarena wants to make Xiaomi angry at them
That is also why they stopped mentioning the ads on Xiaomi's phones

No thanks.
Nord 4 is cheaper and crushes this.
Too bad, Note series from Xiaomi used to be great value for money

vik457, 21 Jan 2025Prices in retail actually different than what manufacturer ... moreThe official price though is from the manufacturer. That's the price that you can get it direct from them at and the price they set. Of course third party retail prices will vary but when launch prices are given here they are the manufacturer recommended prices. Third party sellers can have different prices. Therefore I think it makes most sense to compare official prices against official prices as they are the standard prices set by manufacturers and it is very difficult to track prices of all the third party retailers who will set their own prices. It also varies according to different retailers in different countries

Don’t buy this shit, especially the global model. The Indian model has a longer battery life, better camera’s, otherwise there are many good alternatives out there like the Xiaomi 14T (in some regions same price), Nord 4, …

rizki1, 21 Jan 2025just not fair actually.. Honor has been out for more than 7... moreBut what's different to your recommendation of the Xiaomi 14T which has also been out for months and is currently 570 for just 256gb in Germany and 553 euro in France. Xiaomi 14 is 800 euros currently and that's been out for about 10 months so that's completely in a different price range. All these prices are the official prices from the manufacturer's websites. I'm just giving a recommendation based on real prices in France and Germany for example. The Xiaomi 14t is a worse recommendation as it's worse than the Honor 200pro in terms of processor, and cameras and is currently also 70 euro more expensive for half the storage

Again a terrible battery performance. No sorry Xiaomi, you're done for now. Higher prices (in the redmi range) for lesser performance on many levels? When greed again dictates that value for money means more money for less value. To bad because it's a nice device with some neath things going for it. Not for me (but that was already the case for a while now).

479€ phone with a curved screen in 2024, sub-par performance, terrible battery life for such a big phone, ads on the phone. Why do the redmi notes still exist?
