Active, 08 Feb 2025That list doesn't relate to youtube reviewers. What is... moreThat list is from tomguide.com, testing battery life while web browsing. I already linked to the source in a previous comment. Here it is again:

YouTube reviewers generally don't perform tests like this under the same conditions for every phone (as GSMArena do), so you can't compare all phones they've reviewed like this.

Nameless, 08 Feb 2025No way. Too good to be true. I don't believe it beats ... moreNah that makes zero sense whatsoever. So you're saying tomsguide.com (the second-largest consumer technology, news and review site from the US by the way), is just making up random battery life times for all the phones it reviews? And they're being paid by Samsung to put the S25 Ultra in 8th and the S25 in 14th in their list of top performers (see below)? But Apple isn't paying them to get the iPhone 16 Pro (which has a 120Hz display by the way, not 60Hz) in this list? But hold on, Apple is paying them to put the 16 Pro Max in 7th, higher than the S25 Ultra??

          2. OnePlus 13: 19:45
          3. OnePlus 13R: 18:49
          4. Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro: 18:48
          5. Moto G 2025: 18:32
          6. OnePlus 12R: 18:08
          7. iPhone 16 Pro Max: 17:17
          8. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: 17:14
          9. OnePlus 12: 17:05
          10. Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra: 17:01
          11. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: 16:45
          12. iPhone 16 Plus: 16:29
          13. Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus: 15:58
          14. Samsung Galaxy S25: 15:43
          15. Moto G Stylus 5G (2024): 15:01

What utter nonsense people spout on here...The differences between the battery results from Tom's Guide and GSMArena can actually be explained by different test conditions - the former is tested over a cell connection at 150nits brightness, whereas the latter is tested over over WiFi in Airplane mode at 200nits brightness. I think the former is more applicable to end users as most people don't use Airplane mode that much and would be more likely to have access to a power socket if they were connected to WiFi, so knowing battery life on a cell connection is more useful to most when they're out and about, away from a power socket.

S25U battery test showed an improved of 1 hour over the S24U: 14:49h vs 13:49.
Why s25 base model did not show the sam result?
            Someone has an explanation?

Similar battery life to S24 or even slightly lower would be closer to true. Every reviewer, that makes living from tech reviews, avoids giving bad reviews.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025Here: https://youtu.be/VfN2g3aWAyA?si=2Duf1oLKTPpquP3f ... moreWell Tom's Guide's tests found the S25 to have significantly better battery life than the Snapdragon S24, by 2 and a quarter hours, also beating the iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro:

This puts it at 14th in the best of all current phones they've tested, which is really pretty good considering it's a compact phone much smaller and so with much less battery capacity than any other on this list, and only marginally behind the S24 Plus:

My unit was made in India. Information about the country of manufacture can be seen on the underside of the box.

Battery about the same (or slightly worse) compared to S24 SD. SD 8 Elite is a very powerful chip and S25 is a small flagship, so don't expect battery life miracles.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025Should I upgrade from my S20?Does it still work well for you? Is its battery health still good? If so, I'd say hold on to it. Why fix or replace what isn't broken unless you simply wish to upgrade just because.

really is a shame the x200 mini with the d9400 didnt release globally, it mighvve been actual competition for the base s series. it really just is best in class by default huh? even if the chip is way too power hungry for its chassis.

I'm confused because many other reviews states that the battery life has greatly improved from the S24. I mean I wasn't really expecting it to improve as it is the exact same phone, same battery, same display. It's just the SoC being different.

So other websites are probably wrong.

And in this review S25 has similar battery life to the S24 they reviewed a year ago and that was the Exynos version of the S24.

if compact flagships are not to be desired, apple hasn't been so determined for releasing 2 upgraded flagships each year. for a proper compact android go get xioami 15 or pixel 9 pro
