This is by no means a compact phone unless you have hands like a gorilla. Compact means can be used one-handed, and the last phone Samsung made that could realistically be used with one hand was the S10e.

Anonymous, 10 hours agoFinally someone complaining about lack of UWB
Apple can ... moreYup
Base S25 is a fine and boring phone
It's a shame how much better it could be, but it is not.
120hz aside, iphone 16 is a fine phone compared to iphone 16 pro, it doesn't feel like a worse phone, it just lacks the luxurious stuff most people don't use.
And yet Samsung proves again they don't care about the base phone "enough".
12gb ram is a nice, and that is about it, anybody with a S23 or S24 has zero reason to upgrade.
S22 is a different story, europeans got the beyond terrible exynos in there.
It is a shame, S25 is the last of it's kind in Android lands with it's size and power + updates.
But the moment even apple does it better, ouch Samsung, big ouch.
But not everyone wants a iPhone, if it ran Android then I would get iphone 16, even with that 60hz screen any day above what Samsung brings us here.
Don't get me wrong, base S25 is a good phone..., but buying it means saying to Samsung "it is fine to not care", and that's not a good thing.
I see them drop the base model next year, even while it does sell pretty good for a Android phone considering it's cons, Samsung dropped base size S10 tablet too for same reasons.
Because they don't care.

Finally someone complaining about lack of UWB
Apple can do it, google too, so why not the base S phone.
As for the stability score, considering it's size and "hotness" of the chip, I expected much much worse.
It is fine considering the dimensions, but anybody wanting good sustained performance should never look at compact devices with top shelf chips.

This only makes a little bit of sense if you're in a region where the only similarly sized and priced alternative is the iPhone 16 but you don't want iOS and you're coming from a midranger that is really about to give up the ghost and you can no longer find S24 on any reputable online/physical stores on clearance sale.
