It's one thing to not include a charger, but to include a cable that doesn't support the advertised charging speed is deceitful.
If people want a giant brick, the Nothing 3a Pro has a far better camera experience and a better UI. It's not my cup of tea due to its size, but I'd choose it over the A56.

Wow this review was a bit of a surprise. The camera review was a bit of a mauling. Plus why is the battery life so much worse than the A55 with a far more efficient chipset? If anything this review makes the A55 look better. Better battery, decent camera and with an SD card slot and comparable performance to the Nothing 3a albeit slightly less as it's a year older.
Even the 3a had worse battery life than the 2a. I'm not used to battery life getting worse each year.
Over to Motorola Edge and G series and Oneplus Nord 5 for the midrange crown. Maybe even the Pixel 9a.

Does it matter when it's 8 or 12 GB RAM?
So the test will be worse with bigger RAM maybe?

vik457, 21 Mar 2025Also bfi ≠ pwmWell, i don't think A55's problem is pwm or bfi... More like combination of pwm and glittering coating.. like Anti-Reflexion film, which plays badly with pwm underneath and on top you get bluish color/backlight... I haven't seen that on any other Samsung phone, but i hope their next models don't have it.. I personally can't use A55 because of that

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2025Well, at least samsung does not pretend their phones have 1... moreIs not fake marketing, but A, these high frequency flickers happen only at low brighness levels, and B, you need special equipment to measure it correctly. If you browse recent reviews of notebookcheck, for example, now they're able to get numbers close to what the manufacturers claim. They weren't able to do it not so long ago with many reviews.
Also, real issue isn't frequency alone, but modulation depth. And there, Samsung and Apple are within the worst offenders with close to 100% modulation.

T0MI, 21 Mar 2025Those who always complain about GSMArena always giving too ... moreWith a formidable 5,500mAh battery (yielding a 14-15 hour GSM Battery Score) and a robust 12GB of RAM, the S24FE would have transcended into legend.

T0MI, 21 Mar 2025Those who always complain about GSMArena always giving too ... moreGoogle Pixel 9A and Samsung Galaxy A56 trying hard to make the iPhone 16E (not even the same 48MP sensor as on the iPhone 15 or iPhone 16, not even iPhone 16-tier battery life despite a new modem and larger battery capacity) seem like a good price to ratio device

PureOS, 21 Mar 2025To much compromises. No micro SD, virtual proximity sensor,... moreWell, at least samsung does not pretend their phones have 1920, 2160, 3840 Hz flickering when tests show 240 or less like certain brands.
EU should start punishing fake marketing ..

XwX, 21 Mar 2025Everybody relax...as with all phones, after a few upgrades ... moreYeah, I think I'd rather trust reviewers with years and years of experience that know what good camera quality is and what isn't, rather than a random dude saying otherwise

Everybody relax...as with all phones, after a few upgrades the phone will get nice improvements. Anyway i don't agree with the review because i have the phone, and the cameras are very good.

Samsung lost it here with a56.
Removing the SD makes it a nonsense choice in the price bracket.
Atm here in UK, you can get Xiaomi 14t with more storage for less money than a56.
And is better than A56 all around.
I have a55 myself, got it because the SD card. But if im buying now will never ever consider a56. The competition simply offers more for less.

Those who always complain about GSMArena always giving too much love to Samsung can rejoice, rightly so. With the S24 FE also being available this phone needs a big price drop to have a chance.

Personally I'd recommend an S24, the price is almost the same today, the display is better as is the power and the years of updates are the same (perhaps with greater regularity).

Why.. does GMS arena keep forgetting to compare these phones (a56, nothing phone) with the Poco x7 pro which is cheaper, has much better performance, storage, cooling, charging speed and battery life..?
Are they doing it on purpose? Besides the 2 phones mentioned here (tbh only the nothing phone is a competitor) the only other competitor is literally the Poco x7 pro which is much better. Why did it get ignored both in the verdict/alternatives AND the direct benchmarking section for both the nothing phone and the A56? This is awful
