Wesker, 22 Apr 2025Seeing no difference between an X5 Running ColorOS and a Pi... moreUsing MKBHD's blind test to determine which phones have the best cameras is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Even MKBHD doesn't take his blind test seriously or think that Pixels have the best cameras.

Akinaro, 22 Apr 2025"None of these can be felt in real life unless you are... moreeven then, the Find X8 Ultra has the best thermals of any Ultra phone out there. Even the X200 Ultra, the worst of the bunch in terms of thermals, has better thermals than the S25 Ultra in gaming.
The S25 Ultra dims its screen AND gets hotter whilst compromising on performance later on, around 6 mins, whereas the X200 Ultra only dims its screen near the end of the 30 min test at 26-28 mins. This was seen in Honkai: Star Rail.
An example of thermals and fps in genshin :
S25 Ultra : 59.9 fps, 47.8 degrees celsius temp and dimmed down to 250 nits after 20 mins.
X200 Ultra : 59.9 fps, 44.5 degrees celsius, no dimming.
Find X8 Ultra : 59.8 fps, 42 degrees celsius, no dimming.
These numbers are from Xiaobai's tests. The testing methodology :
25 degree celsius room, phones at 350 nits brightness. Played on Wifi.
The point is : apart from gaming phones with fans somewhere, this has the best thermals for the performance class out there. This has similar thermals, perhaps slightly worse on the Find X8 Ultra, to the Oneplus 13.

YUKI93, 23 Apr 2025I don't doubt the X8 Ultra's excellent photo qual... moreand the Oneplus 13 is basically the Find X8 Pro without the 6x, so i think the Oneplus makes MUCH more sense all around. For example the fingerprint scanner is ultrasonic on the OP phone and the charging is also much faster on the 13.
However I must say, overall in terms of upgrades, the Find X8 Ultra is VASTLY superior to the Find X8 Pro. For MOST people the X8 Pro is "good enough" but hey man that's how it is with Ultras/top of the line flagships. They're NOT for "most people". Samsung just ran with it and made their Ultra a Chinese Pro-tier phone. The name sells. That's it. But in reality THIS is a proper Ultra.

I don't doubt the X8 Ultra's excellent photo quality. But the X8 Pro is already so good that it makes you question spending more for this. Unless you need 4K/120fps video recording support and always prefer Qualcomm chipsets over MediaTek's, I'd save my money and get the X8 Pro.

"None of these can be felt in real life unless you are playing a super modern 3D action game, and even then - those have been optimized not to use the maximum of your hardware."

Why these chinese brands are so conservative? They go big and they stay local. Looks like they have an agreement with apple and samsung not to compete in the market share at all.

Not to mention both Vivo and Oppo flagships always get destroyed in blind tests against Pixels (every year) because BBK can't come up with a software that masters the otherwise very capable hardware.
But it seems simply stating facts will earn you the ignorant title around here 🌝

Randomguyhere, 21 Apr 2025Why sell to China only? Seems counterintuitive to selling m... moreIf they sell internationally they have to offer customer service, warranties etc. in the countries they sell in. This costs money. If selling in Europe for example they also have to offer a 2 year warranty instead of a one year warranty they offer in China. In addition they have to market the phone. Every company wants to make as much profit as possible so they would bring it to more countries if they felt it was finacially viable. Perhaps, they just don't feel they would sell enough. In Europe, for example it would likely cost around 1,500 euro (as that's what the Xiaomi 15 ultra costs). Would many people be willing to pay that? Probably not. Then to sell the stock they have they would probably end up having to sell them off at a large discount eventually which would defeat the purpose of making money. That's what I think is a likely reason. For sure, though, if they felt it would make money they would launch it.

Why sell to China only? Seems counterintuitive to selling more phones and making more money. I didn't go to business school, so many some experts can weigh in on why, not selling what seems to be a great new phone to the entire world is good for business. They sold so many other Oppo phones outside of China. Why is China holding out on this particular phone? Since China sells everything else to the whole world and has for many years. Apple, Samsung and most major phones are sold in China. Samsung doesn't sell many there though.
