Seems counterintuitive to selling more phones and making more money. I didn't go to business school, so maybe some experts can weigh in on why not selling, what seems to be a great new phone to the world. Since they sell everything else to the whole world. ;-)

That is their strategy and it's working as the OPPO find x8 is their best selling flagship series phone of all time, with the base x8 model already out selling the whole find X7 series.

Pretty sure my find X5 is been able to wirelessly transfer data "air drop" for a while, it's not a new thing and it's not something apple came up with lol (no matter how many times they put their own naming scheme on everything).

          Love how people say everyone is copying IOS yet all IOS has been for the past 5 years is taking android features, multiple years after the fact lol, then just renaming it (after years of saying they wouldn't implement that feature).

          Also what's wrong with colourOS? Again my find X5 is on android 14 yet I see no real visual difference between it and my pixel 8 pro on android 15 (aka not seeing any new settings or new visual effects or ways to interact with apps or the phone, actually my find X5 has a few extra nicities that I wish Google would bring to pixels and a far easier to use camera app).

          Also it won't ever happen in the western world because we have a duopoly with apple and Samsung, they have way too much money and resources over this side of the world and tbh chinese companies have way more market share and make more money in their own markets (Huawei are top and have, from what I've seen reviewed on YouTube, the best software experience that you can have if you're in their ecosystem, beats even apple's software and this was from "whostheboss" who isn't a Chinese device prioritier).

          Super ignorant thinking that whatever happens basically in USA and Europe means the world so what's big there means it's the best or most popular, very, VERY WRONG.

          P.s. apple a.i. Seems to be really doing well, only a couple years behind everyone else and it's still a buggy mess that needs loads of work... Sorry everyone's copying that too I guess.

                  What gets me is , I've paid top money for Oppo's Flagship last November thinking I've got the best Oppo offer and then they go pull a stunt like this and upgrade the find X8 and keep it for the Chinese only. This is not a great idea from Oppo because it's putting me off the brand. I've been pissed thinking about this since I heard they were bringing the Ultra out.
                  A few other things have annoyed me too, like Night Shots on these cameras, I upgraded to this phone from the Oppo Reno 8 pro, which has Amazing night shots , but night shots on the x8 pro are nowhere near as good. The Reno would fully charge in 30 minutes on 80w charging and this new flagship x8 pro takes over an hour 🤦 yes there is an extra 990mh in this battery, but that shouldn't be able to take and extra 35 minutes should it.. it's like Oppo really don't know what they're doing or trying to do too much. Whatever the case , they should get their act together because they have a great brand..

                          first ever comment in here but I t seems the reviewer is getting lazy, this is a camera phone, first off is stupid to say 25mp or 50mp is "questionably useful" when in fact this is becoming the norm so they should encourage this as most users that buy these kind of devices want more work done to every output rather than less options, also is quite nonsense to not have used 25mp or 50mp in night mode if available or at least mention this.
                          this comment section is really boring so I guess this will be overlooked if something but let's hope someome reads it

                                  For people interested in the low light capabilities, what i see is that the highly anticipated camera phone dissapoints in 2 areas;

                                  1. The low light photos show a fair amount of halo's/ghosting and in some case bad flaring with light sources especially from headlights of cars.

                                  2. It is not apparent in this review, but i have noticed bad studder with low light video on youtube comparison video's between the X8 and other flagship camera phones. This simply cannot be fixed in post. Something to consider when buying this phone.
