      first ever comment in here but I t seems the reviewer is getting lazy, this is a camera phone, first off is stupid to say 25mp or 50mp is "questionably useful" when in fact this is becoming the norm so they should encourage this as most users that buy these kind of devices want more work done to every output rather than less options, also is quite nonsense to not have used 25mp or 50mp in night mode if available or at least mention this.
      this comment section is really boring so I guess this will be overlooked if something but let's hope someome reads it

              For people interested in the low light capabilities, what i see is that the highly anticipated camera phone dissapoints in 2 areas;

              1. The low light photos show a fair amount of halo's/ghosting and in some case bad flaring with light sources especially from headlights of cars.

              2. It is not apparent in this review, but i have noticed bad studder with low light video on youtube comparison video's between the X8 and other flagship camera phones. This simply cannot be fixed in post. Something to consider when buying this phone.

                          This is why I love gsmarena, the brightness sampling is real, not that bullshit 1 dot OLED that can reach 4500 brightness and they advertised it as 4500 nits brightness

Oppo uses stolen technology to make cool smartphones that I am a fan of, but Apple is more than capable of releasing phones like this and to be perfectly clear, Oppo is definitely copying Apple.

                                    Am I crazy?

                                    The 25mp with the main camera are amazing. There's a lot of fine detail there compared to the over sharpened mess that the iPhone offers with their "24mp".

                                    I guess GSMArena are getting used to overprocessing as years go by.

                                    Now, the 25mp from the periscope cameras are a different thing and still, they offer as much detail as the iPhone and their 24mp.

                                      SadSoul, 20 Apr 2025As a regular visitor to gsmarena site for like more than 2 ... moreTwo chinese dudes did a real life comparison of 15U and FX8U and FX8U actually won - by a minute. Both were terrible though, 5h40min both, shameful for 6k mah.

                                      Their usage was:
                                      5G both,
                                      navigating the city,
                                      playing same games,
                                      snapping same pictures and videos,
                                      etc.

                                      Though 15U dimmed display after 30 seconds of being outside and started thermal throttling real hard after dropping Hz to 60 unlike OPPO that actually stayed peak brightness for the entirety of the test (way better than 15U, S25U, etc.)

                                        as for it being on par with X100U - it is, even during the night BUT some part of images do lose texture (left side of the image I compared was better on x100u while the right side had more details on fx8u)

                                        FX8U colors were way better too

                                        though they're not the best.
