I wz referring to the 'upcoming' N85 refresh (in reply to rbh5) as rumoured on Nokia's leaked road map which might also come with xenon flash. It's rumoured that there will be onboard memory but it doesn't say if there will be a card plot

Looking on the pics made with its camera i feel like seeing mid-level median filter on upscaled picture. I do know its only a phone camera but I wonder if there would be the same effect if the picture resolution would be a set bit smaller... eg. 1024x768 :)

Lucian, 13 Nov 2008I still haven't made up my mind yet on whether or not to ge... moreDual LED's aren't bad - Nokia uses them on the 6500 Slide, which I have currently. However, they can't beat a Xenon flash for low light or action shots.
I was looking at a comparison of the shots taken with the N82, the N85 and the N95. For low light shots the N82 came out the best. Surprisingly though, the N85 wasn't very far behind it. And, the N95 came in behind them both in terms of quality.

I still haven't made up my mind yet on whether or not to get the N85 now seeing that it will most likely be re-released with my N82's xenon flash or if to get it now. I've never experienced dual leds. My first Nseries was the N82. I'll make my mind up depending on whether or not the upcoming N85 will have expandable memory to go along with that 8-16Gb on board memory

some smg phone copy nokia idea
since N95 very success at market , they use s60
since n95, some of sam phone use double slide
and G810 very like a a-like N95 but lack of double slide
Nokia use OLED screen, they follow it
I8510 also like a a-like N96 just N96 is 5MP
sam doesn't own just nokia own, 40.3% compare to 17.3% which big?? maybe ur math got problem

Anonymous, 10 Nov 2008bro N85 being great an all is just another N95, i'm a nokia... moreThanks for your input. I'll probably wait 6 months before I buy anything. By that time the price on either should have dropped a bit and some bug fixes will be out. Also, I'll get to see what people have to say about them after months of use - the true test of any phone. ;)

Bill, 10 Nov 2008I've been trying to decide between this and the Nokia 5800 ... morebro N85 being great an all is just another N95, i'm a nokia fan too i sold my N95 8GB a few months back to save up for the N96 and i bought a N78 for the between period and for FP2 and the FP transmitter, right now i'm confused as hell too, i just can't figure why the N85 is better in everyway as compared to the so called flagship N96 and hoe badly Nokia have messed up the N96, and the 5800 XM coming at such a good price with a great screen does seem like a great choice and it probably is the best if your pickin from N85, N96 and 5800, i feel like buying the regular N95 cause of its price and the 5mp cam, the only difference N85 has is FP2, the FM transmitter and the OLED.

I've been trying to decide between this and the Nokia 5800 Xpress. While the 5800 will be revolutionary at it's price point, I think I'm leaning toward the N85 at the moment.
Having a touch screen isn't really that important to me: I can imagine it being a finger print magnet really. And, having a clean, smudge-free phone is more important to me than the gimmick of being able to navigate by touch. Also, I want a better camera than the 5800 has. However, the 5800 Xpress does have a larger, higher resolution screen than the N85.
Anyone care to comment?

N96,N85,N79 plastictoys are a joke compared to Samsung.
Cant comprehend why people spend bunch of bugs for nokia cheap quality phones. I bet Nokia headquarter is laughing at all the mindless Nokiafools.

Im not exactly sure why gsmarena are not happy with the camera. The n85 pictures look like those of n95 8gb but a bit blurry. The n79 on the other hand looks like it has better coloring on its pictures as compared to the other two, although still blurry compared to n95 8gb.
Has anyone else noticed this?
