Why aren't they talking about the lifetime of that superb OLED screen. This type of screen is just marvellous in terms of clarity and colour contrast but what about the organic part of the screen. The organic part of the screen's gonna expire pretty soon.expiry date 2 years max.

no matter how Good or Bad a phone is the marketing and releasing sector is just as important if not more, the two extreme examples here are the N96 and iphone, The N96 was truly a powerful multimedia device back in its time, its main features of Live Replay, Direct Record 16GB onboard with memory card really stood out back than but now its more of a blur. The iphone is the most over-hyped and over-priced device and its not worth any of the hype or price but cause the marketing sector really built up this device in the Media people even now go crazy over it not knowing its compelety underpowered. Nokia really screwed up this time.

its finally time to move on, before whenever a new wave of nNereis were announced there used to be so much excitement, there'd be really unique and amazing specs...nowdays alot of the charm has been lost, its not like it used to be, The N95 did kinda ruin the lines and Nokia really messed up the N96 launch and the actual device

Anyone using this phone in the US under T-Mobile's contract?? Please let me know how it works, good or bad. I am planning to buy this phone as soon as the NAM version is available, but again, it is going to depend on its functions on T-Mobile. Thanks!!

I REALLY don't understand something - I have the N85 for almost a week now, and zooming into picture (every picture!) takes less then a second... I don't get it at all, how come it took you so long to zoom in? I can even zoom in while panning the picture, and it has a nice zoom effect too, like you'd zoom with an optic zoom.
And one more thing - the GPS lock, speed and precision is nothing less then amazing - I activated a navigation program, and from the second it came up to the second I had a lock it took *LESS* then 10 seconds, and from there on I had a solid lock all the way to my destination. Sure, I enabled AGPS, but why shouldn't I?
My version is 10.045, and its the one and only version available to the phone right now, so I don't understand the difference between my phone and the phone that GSMArena guys had to check.
Btw, the N85 can, of course, be updated through NSU, and the next update might fix the image processing algorithm, so the pictures would look much better. If you'd try to remember, the N95 8GB used to make abit crappy images with its initial software version...

After reading the review I guess the camera performance would improve by changing the imaging algorithm and GPS would also get some fixes so overall I believe its a gr8 all in one package... the way my 5700 is performing after firmware upgrades I am damm sure this thing would rock.......sun legibility though wud b same.......

The N85 might look very good an the slider an the screen alot better than the N95 models, but its the functions you get on the N85 that lets it down ,the camera not top scotch an the speakers not clear,so those with the N95 8gb mobile its a hard choice to make is it worth upgrading to the N85,i decide it was not as the N95 8gb mobile is alot better in certain features,so you might as well wait until Nokia releases a mobile worth upgrading to,thats why i returned the N85 as you do not buy a mobile on its looks, but the produces think people do now days which is totally wrong

oh yeah by the way I have a question do you guys think it's really worth buying the n85 if you recently(1 month ago) just bought the n82. Software wise there isn't really THAT much that changed.

COOL! COOL! it's really a cool phone! I have a nokia n82(black). And I was actually planning to buy the n85 but seeing there isn't much that changed compared to my n82 and apparently the picture quality is not the same nor is it better. So I think I'll just wait until nokia releases an 8 megapixel phone
