Anonymous, 04 Aug 2009I just tested this phone and I find that it is fatser than ... moreIn order to turn the vibration off, being at the initial stand-by mode, press zoom in/out buttons on the left of the handset. This will get you to keytone & vibration level setting, where you can easily set the vibration to zero! :)

I just tested this phone and I find that it is fatser than Samsung usually is. But, what I did not lik is that anoying menu system just like at the crap 5800 and N97. What is the point that you need to tap two times on every line???!!! This is just stupid!
Also I could not find the option (it migh be there somwhere) to turn of the vibration feedback which I hate.
Overall I have mixed feelings about this phone. I still prefer the Pixon12 and the iPhone.

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2009hmmm... videos taken in hd look bad... previous were much b... moremy sister has the arena and i have the i8910.
The arena is very slow at responding and sometimes takes about 2secs to respond (transition effect?). But the camera and video is pretty good for the arena. dunno... just throwing this out there so you won't be dissapionted.

M, 02 Aug 2009I have a que for someone who have this phone. how long does... moreI have this phone for almost a month and it lasts just a bit over 2 days. Used it for only a couple phone calls (approx 30mins in the 2days), a few text messages, and to check the time.

I bought my i8910 HD on Saturday and it is outstanding! I am very excited!
The AMOLED touchscreen is perfect. The slow motion in the image gallery (or media opening) is not so irritating. Battery life is fine up to now, lasted 2 full days with a huge activity (recording, data transferring, navigation, calls, sms, setting, etc).
The only dissadvantages for me up to now are the low sound quality in video recording, the inadequate LED flash (xenon would be better)and the necessary paid upgrade to edit documents.
I will test my handset and will comeback in a month's time.

Segev, 02 Aug 2009The Omnia HD got 3 diffrent video resolutions: HD 720P (... moreActually the 720p is shot with VFR (Various framerate) ranging from 8 to 24 frames per second. The duplicate frames are most probably added by the decoder during playback, so it can maintain the same number of images per second. For more info just download the sample and check it with MediaInfo :)

I am so looking forward to getting this phone ... but somehow I feel that Samsung has compromised the video quality to some extent ... but I can live with that .. I will only use 720p for special occasions only .. D1 will be more than enough for other occasions. The camera quality is good enough , so is the music quality , but I was hoping for a better audio ... BUT ... there is awesome AMOLED screen ... 3.7" is HUGE , no question about that .. overall , it should be an awesome experience, coupled with the fast Cortex A8 processor and the stonking 1500 mAh battery !

It seems that the FM transmitter hardware is there and that it just hasn't been enabled in software yet. I've seen claims from a couple of mobile hackers that they've managed to get it working, albeit not able to change the broadcast frequency.
Obviously they may be telling tall tales, but if it's true, then there's a decent chance that one of the gripes with this phone will be fixed in time.

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2009Does anyone know if the standard definition video recording... moreThe Omnia HD got 3 diffrent video resolutions:
HD 720P (1280X720, 16:9) at 24 FPS, pretty smooth but not perfect
D1 (720x480, 16:9) at 30FPS, very smooth
QVGA (320X240, 4:3) at 120FPS, Slowmotion

Some clarifications on HD terms...
as far as I see the specs stated the video capability is 720x480 pixels. This isn't truly HD in Video Terms. No doubt there's a improvement in higher resolution. But minimal qualification for HD is 1280x720 pixels. It's the vertical (shortest) resolutions count.
So in fact this Omnia is not really doing HD video. Perhaps its just a new marketing gimmick ? 720x480 is still SD content. Maybe that's why HDMI cables are not included, only the normal RCA.
